+Dave Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Anyone have a clue on how to get it to work? Quote
Fubar512 Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Specs Dave, Specs. What's the native resolution of the three monitors you're using it with? Quote
+Dave Posted February 24, 2012 Author Posted February 24, 2012 Well I have given up on this piece of s**t. Anyone want to buy it? I'll sell it cheap. Don't understand how it would work for Series 1 and not 2. Wasted money on a new additional monitor too. What a joke. Quote
+Stary Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Dave have you tried everything? Like launching in Directx9 mode? Quote
+Dave Posted February 24, 2012 Author Posted February 24, 2012 I can get past the splash screen. Then it goes black. Quote
+Stary Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 disabled advanced shaders too? I'm thinking of possible reasons why XP/Dx9 titles work while V,7/Dx10,11 do not Quote
+Dave Posted February 24, 2012 Author Posted February 24, 2012 Progress, I put the Powerdesk settings to a single 1680x1050, started the SF2, I got cloned displays. Ran a mission and I got the pit across all three screens, but when I ended the mission, it went to a black screen. I had to control-alt-delete to end the game Quote
+Stary Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 hmmm... odd, but I have zero 3-head experience, just shooting blind. If you can run it and fly before lockup, try for starters lowest settings? I had sometimes SF2 locked for good when my video memory got flooded with unlimited stuff Quote
+Stary Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 oh one more thing Dave, IF you could try earlier version before last patches... Quote
+Dave Posted February 24, 2012 Author Posted February 24, 2012 There has to be a setting somewhere to fix this. Im almost there. Quote
+Dave Posted February 24, 2012 Author Posted February 24, 2012 Now I did get this to work with WOI. As it was native to using 3 monitors. Its very very cool. But that is Gen 1 and doesn't really do me any good. Quote
+Stary Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 sweet. maybe something in flightengine.ini, some bugger hiding Quote
+Dave Posted February 24, 2012 Author Posted February 24, 2012 Dave, which adapter # is it using? Which what? Quote
+Dave Posted February 24, 2012 Author Posted February 24, 2012 TK figured it out. I turned of Powerdesk and wham it worked! Thank you TK!!! Quote
+PureBlue Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Dave, how is your frame rate, compared to your previous Nvidia card (?) Quote
+Dave Posted February 25, 2012 Author Posted February 25, 2012 Dave, how is your frame rate, compared to your previous Nvidia card (?) I still have the Nvidia GXT 570. The Triplehead2Go plugs into the video card. Then it does what it does and wham I get uber wide screen. Anyway back to your original question I had to reduce the FSAA from 32 to 8. There is a little FPS drop when I first get into the cockpit view but that goes away really quick. I am going to set up a really intense mission to see if having lots of planes in the air effects it. I'll report back soon with the results. I will say this, this was a major pain in the ass to get set up. Took about 4 days total. I have 90% of all my games working. A few more still have issues, but I'll get them sorted. Quote
+PureBlue Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 I see... That's really slick. I'm curious how it works under the hood, will do some reading on it. Have fun with your new toy! Quote
+SkateZilla Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 (edited) works with Eyefinity too: http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3271921/is_anyone_else_having_an_fov_i.html#Post3271921 i think there's a few other games that have issues with Powerdesk... I certainly remember someone saying a few games they had to turn it off. Edited February 26, 2012 by SkateZilla Quote

I certainly remember someone saying a few games they had to turn it off. My question then is (by the way excellent post at SimHq, I think we should put together something for the KB) would there be any adverse effects to uninstalling Powerdesk? Quote
