Hello,

First time tried ODS. Have combo game pack + EXP1 +EXP2 + NA merged. Installed PART 1,2,3 copied For_SF2NA content from part 1, installed hotfix 4 and copied For_SF2NA from patch 4 and getting darker "jagged" sand costline tiles. I am missong something or done something wrong? I see Mar2012 and SF2NA folders in Terrains/DS folder. Really confused :dntknw: Any possible help for jagged costline textures please?

eBurger;

Just a quick question, when I select Campaign on the main menu, the game crashes - ctd.

All the rest of the Mod works; single mission (both create and load). I followed the read-me in creating a whole new install; SF2:E with Exp pack, also updated to the latest patch (April '12).

Just to check if it was the install that was mucked up, I redownloaded and created a fresh new install - same occured.

I've applied the hotfix, but no change.

I'd really appreciate any assistance, as I so want to enjoy the teams' hard work.

Thanks

I've run into an odd CTD. When I complete a mission I no longer get the post mission menu. I'm flying an F-15E a couple days into the ground offensive if that helps.

Honestly, I have no idea what is causing that CTD, which could be any number of things. Best advice I can offer is to reinstall if the CTDs continue.

I'm still getting passing thru the carrier deck, when landing. Everything else seems fine.

Fresh install, hotfix 4.

I know it's something on my end.

Should I try the carrier files that were posted earlier, maybe?

I'll keep at it and see if I can discover something that could be causing the CTD.

You can try the files that were posted here:

http://combatace.com/topic/71869-desert-storm-part-1-for-sf2/page__view__findpost__p__567742

Those same files are included in Hotfix 4.

If you're going to post notice of a problem, it would be helpful to know what patch level you're on and whether you have SF2NA merged into your install base.

eburger68,

Thanks for the reply.

I'm using a full merged install with the SF2 Europe exe., patched to April 2012.

I'm guessing I may need to install the SF2NA files, even tho' I'm using SF2E??

There are several folders with different dates in the SF2NA options folder. I am confused exactly which ones to use. I'm probably not explaining this well.

Thanks for the help,

TurtleHawk

You don't need SF2NA but it's supported if it is part of your target install base.

As for installation, best advice I can give is to follow the instructions in the ReadMe. Don't pick and choose by date -- just follow the instructions.

Ok, F-7A is easily fixable. Just change [Fuselage] section ShowFromCockpit to FALSE and pit is fixed. Also its better to use lod from Mirage Factory MiG-21F Fishbed-B Early from http://www.column5.us/aircraft5.shtml as it match two fuselage guns of F-7A. Mig-21F-13 lod what is currently used have just one gun pod on right side.

The F-7A cockpit display problem can indeed be fixed by editing the DATA.INI as you did. As for coastlines, it's hard to tell from the angle of screenshot you supplied, but that looks like it may be the same problem that was addressed in Hotfix 4.

If you already have Hotfix 4 installed, then you should double-check that it's installed correctly -- i.e., no nested files & directories. If the Hotfix is isntalled correctly, then I would investigate the settings for your graphics card.

Yes i installed Hotfix 4. Twice. There is some inner folders in terrain/ODS folder that i am not sure what o do with. No readme mentioned them.

There's a \_water folder (included in Hotfix 4) that contains alternate versions of the water shader. If you installed the SF2NA files from the Hotfix, there are also two folders that contain backups of three key terrain files -- one set for non-SF2NA installs, the other for SF2NA installs. Those are the only "inner folders" that I'm aware of.

I am totaly confused. In my Hotfix 4 contains:

For_SF2NA\Terrains\DS\Mar2012\

For_SF2NA\Terrains\DS\SF2NA\

Similar structure confusing structure is in main ODS part 1 - 3 files.

I tried all combinations and always got jagged coastlines textures. Maybe i am not smart enought for this mod.

Yes, those are the two backup folders that I mentioned. If you installed Hotfix 4 correctly you should have both folders, along with the \_water folder as sub-folders of your Terrains\DS folder.

But none of those folders is actually used by the game -- they simply contain backups and alternate versions of some files.

This is the same question I was trying to ask, apparently not very clearly.

I think I understand the answer better, now. :good:

I may still wait for the ODS update, especially sinces the May 2012 update has been released.

I did a fresh install using SF2NA, May 2012 patch, and everything seems to work. I can land on the carriers.

Must have been pilot error.
