hrc Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 When flying a mission, wingman and other planes in flight often disengage from formation and attack targets in vicinity on their own. It happens at any given time in mission, whether approaching the main flight target or returning to home base. Is there anything to do about it except giving them orders to rejoin all the time?

+RAVEN Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Best answer I ever read was "Shoot them down"
usafphantom2 Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 I've had same problem in KAW they just seem to do their own thing often to their own detrement
+Wrench Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 it's an AI control issue; been there for a couple of years. some luftwhiners over at the 3W site were complaining about AI behavior, and this is the result. adapting one's tactical doctrine to 'work around' the AI idiocy is required (ie: keep calling them back; even though they usually don't)
Icarus999 Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 Probably attacking radars, Sams and AAA that are locking them up. Look on the bright side... at least they are engaging something... there was a time when they maybe dropped a bomb( or maybe not) and then made a beeline for home. Totally worthless and really freaking boring to watch. Besides you have to hit the target yourself to get credit for the mission success with the latest patches.
