AGOSTINO Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 I wanted to thank Stary, for its terrains mods....are really cool!!! To make it even more amazing, I wanted to ask Stary, if he could create for all terrains mods, the Noisenormal and Waternormal files in high-resolution (1024 x 1024). Calmly, and when you have time!!!!!! Quote
Panama Red Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 I was thinking that this has already been done, you just have to scroll through the downloads and find it (not sure if it is in the SF1 or SF2 downloads). Quote
Fubar512 Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 It won't make too much of a difference. The shader itself needs to be edited in order to increase the number of water bumps that are tiled per square kilometer. Then, you run into another issue, you begin to encounter "edges" in the shader effect much more frequently. Quote
Wrench Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 yup, since the shader scripts are locked away, there's f*** all we can do about it. increasing the resolution will SERIOUSLY screw things up. Quote
+Stary Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 sadly as those-in-the-know^ said, it won't make a difference but cause troubles, and as now the shaders are disabled, we're with what we have Quote

Considering what you said, in your opinion, which of these combinations are suggested within each terrain?? 1) Noisenormal 1024x1024 + Waternormal 1024x1024 2) Noisenormal 512x512 + Waternormal 512x512 3) Noisenormal 512x512 + Waternormal 1024x1024 4) Noisenormal 1024x1024 + Waternormal 512x512 Quote
Fubar512 Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 I've got a great idea, why don't you do it yourself? Try experimenting, "getting your hands dirty", (etc), and post the results. If they turn out well, then upload them for others to try. Quote

AGOSTINO Posted March 26, 2013 Author Posted March 26, 2013 I did some tests ... ... and I concluded that, the best combination is: Noisenormal 1024x1024 + Waternormal 512x512 Excellent ratio between quality and performance!!! Quote
