Asshats:

Maybe it's just me, but it seems that the older I get, the more I care about animals, and the less I care about humans. A significant portion of humanity seems to serve no other purpose than to eat, crap, breed, take up space, waste oxygen, and commit every crime imaginable. Just like the two low lifes mentioned in the article.

Filthy bastards. Our oldest female dog, who died recently, was recovered by us in a ditch... the same kind of assbags had wrapped her with barbed wires !

Unfortunately animals still have no value to most humans and are at best viewed as simple property by the law. It is still after all a perfectly acceptable pastime to take a shotgun and blow ducks out of the sky for fun.

Julhelm,

Don't confuse this with hunting. This, was a wanton act of cruelty by a pair of a-holes against an animal that was for all intents and purposes a pet. It was conditioned by constant exposure to humans to trust them unconditionally, and to expect kindness and food from them.

When a hunter shoots a wild duck, it is over instantly for that animal, and that hunter and his loved one's will get a meal out of that duck. The hunter's intent isn't torture and cruelty.

Yeah, except for the cases where the hunter is a bad shot and you have a wounded animal that bleeds to death in agony. Or when you have a fox that is hunted for hours by men on horses with dogs. What is sport hunting if not wanton acts of cruelty and violence against unsuspecting animals? What difference does it really make if the animal is a pet or not, as far as the animal is concerned? Killing for fun is killing for fun and killing for fun is morally reprehensible regardless of whether you're a 'hunter' or just a lowlife drunken thug.

Yeah, OK. That makes a lot of sense. At least to someone who may be brain-dead.

It's called "Predation". It's nature's way. BTW, foxes have been known to "kill for fun". as have wolves, tigers, and lions. Shall we tell them that it's wrong? Those species, and their ancestors, have only been practicing it for several million years.

Killing for food is at least justifiable. If you're killing something you have no intention of eating, then it's not predation.

No one eats foxes.

I'm not a greatly Religous person, but in the Book of Enoch (old testament)..God makes it perfectly clear, that, come judgement day, 'The Beasts will judge us'

So, these scumbags, and the others like them..had better hope it's bollox!

Horrible.Animals especially pets are usually defenseless.Only someone deranged enough can torture an animal and enjoy it.But in a world where one regularly hears the phrase:'They're just dumb animals!',these incidents won't be stopping anytime soon....
