Sokol Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 hi, yesterday i acquired two ai-aircraft packages from thirdwire and ran the exe-files. now i have a new seperate folder "dlc" with 2 .dlc-files, but cannot see the new aircraft in the objects/aircraft-folder. what went wrong ? any help appreciated. sokol
+Stary Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Sokol, you have up-to-date game? Also, check in the unmodded installation not in specific one if you have multiple
+Wrench Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 which DLCs??? don't forget the last 2 pack were AI-only aircraft, and therefore "invisible" to the player (unless may player-flyable)
Sokol Posted August 24, 2013 Author Posted August 24, 2013 Hi all thx for your answers. i run an updated version of the multiple install (july 2013). dlc: yes, it's the 2 ai-packages. i want to make these aircraft fylable, to do new repaints etc., which is part of the fun of this sim. that is why i need to locate them, but i can't ;-( sokol
+Wrench Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 have you looked in the /Aircraft folder? That's where you'll find them.....
Sokol Posted August 24, 2013 Author Posted August 24, 2013 hi Wrench no, there is nothing new to see / find
Spinners Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 hi Wrench no, there is nothing new to see / find Not even a basic aircraft folder with a single .ini ? It probably means you've installed them to the wrong place. Regardless of that you will need to extract the DLC cats to get at all the skins, decals and ini's. I can get at mine using this path (but ymmv); Computer > Local Disk (C:) > Program Files (x86) . Third Wire > Strike Fighters 2 > DLC
Sokol Posted August 24, 2013 Author Posted August 24, 2013 hi spinner thx for the reply. i see the default aircraft as usual, but no sign of the new aircraft (su-9 for example). there is a folder "dlc" in the main sf-directory which contains 2 dlc-files, however. how do i extract them ?
Spinners Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Get yourself the Third Wire Strike Fighters 2 CAT File Extractor http://www.thirdwire.com/downloads_tools.htm
Sokol Posted August 24, 2013 Author Posted August 24, 2013 thx spinner the extraction did the job for me ;-) sokol 1
