Beanie;

I hope at least, that all the WOFF related posts will be migrated to this new forum and that the OFF portions will remain in tack where they are.

There is a formidable amount of downloadeable files and FAQ helps info that will undoubtedly apply to both forums so what happens to all that?

I'm a little disappointed the devs have neglected to mention anything at all here, now that WOFF's arrival is imminent. I seem to recall a statement from them that they would.

Check that. More than a little.

.

Yes, our old camp here is no longer on any official maps so most of the news has to make its way over via the grapevine.

True, we are the step-child now. But we have only to keep steady, and be what we have always been: the hub for discussing OFF-related subjects, a source of fascinating WWI minutiae, sparkling wit, and intellectual ferment, graced by the most collegiate atmosphere. Despite our reduced numbers, the lost lambs will come straggling back. Mark my word.

Lambs!!, I just love lamb chops, with just a hint of mint sauce on the side, mmmmmm!

This is always the forum I check first, and the one I post on most often. As far as I'm concerned, this is still the Mess

Well, I never went to college, but from the sound of it Hauksbee did. It also sounds like he's been indulging in something fermented, whether sparkling or not.

Amen to that.

I hate to have too many place to check - I feel like a sheep dog then, who lost his herd.

The herd isn't lost, it's at SimHQ. As of me typing these words right now, there are 9 viewers here. There are 12 viewers at the Sim HQ OFF forum and 65 viewers at the SimHQ WOFF forum. Clearly, it's a no-brainer where the devs need to focus.  Not to mention there's not even a WOFF forum at Combat Ace.

Your data cannot be denied, but and that is a big "BUT", most of us would like to have a single amalgamated site to hang out in. Each of the current sites has valuable information that many of us need to refer to. I do however recognize that such a venture is highly unlikely so I have built shortcuts on my desktop to SIMHQ - WOFF, SIMHQ - OFF, CA, and wings over flanders fields official site. I need to see all of them and it is somewhat a pain but unavoidable it seems.

I don't particularly mind the SimHQ forums, I've contributed to them here and there for over a decade now. But this is the original home of OFF, it's where the BOC is and I like the fellows here, so this is where I hang out.

HEAR, HEAR!!

Wait. Maybe that should be, "READ, READ!!"

Hey, you guys can prefer what you like, I'm not trying to stop that at all! "You wanna go where everyone knows your name." I get it.

But, as of now, there is only one WOFF forum, and it's not on CA. And, frankly, OFF=the past and WOFF=the present/the future. I am not implying OFF is going away, so put down the flame throwers. I assume many, many guys will fly it for a long time to come. But even though I've not even flown WOFF yet it seems safe to say OFF is not in the league of what WOFF is and what WOFF will become.

Javito 1986, this is not the original home of OFF. It's at least the second. Years ago there was a huge, massive, forced move to here. But see? Time rolls on, locations change, but when the dust settles things are still good.

Fightin' talk gents.

Let's see if multiplayer in 'doable', and have the Combat Ace Woffers take on the Sim HQ Woffers in an airborne dogfight to settle our differences and bragging rights. Might be fun, and a regular occurance too with any luck. Once we're all pals, we could fly missions together with bomber flights and escorts etc..

My point remains that a promise was made to keep this site informed. They continued to post screenshots and videos to tantalize and tease, to stoke the fires of anticipation and desire, to keep interest alive. And all this after the name WOFF was created (i.e. I don't think your semantics-based arguement holds water, Jim). But when the time came for that promise to be kept...when release became imminent..., it wasn't.

I remember that forced relocation Jim, it was out of the blue and CA was kind enough to provide us a new home PDQ.  I still say the move to SimHQ was hasty and unnecessary but it was the devs' call so there you go.   I've moved on and accept that the official forums are and will remain over there but I will also still hang out here as well.  RB3D had more than just one place to visit on a daily basis so no reason to assume the same won't continue here with WOFF/OFF.  And speaking of that move way back at the beginning of '09, who remembers this parting goodbye to the old, old forums?
