SF2NA: Engine ship sounds?

Havn't found a mod yet that add some sounds of engines or water waves to the ships.

If there isn't a mod out yet would it be possible todo this and if so how?

Rends, there are a number of ship sounds that are included with various ships or packs. As I am really into ships in SF2:NA Let me take a look at what I have and get back to you.

To change the sounds open up the ships _data.ini and find

 

 

[sound]

EngineSoundName=CVNAmbient

MovementSoundName=CVNMovement

 

 

So this would be CVNAmbient.wav, CVNMovement.wav

Here are attached ship sounds and there related Soundlist.ini entries that I am using in my SF2:NA install.

2 basic sounds are used:

 

shipengine.wav

underway.wav.

 

cvnambient should pretty much only be used for carriers (modern ones, post 1960, ie: supercarriers)

 

each and every data ini for each and every stock ship will require extraction, placement in their respective folders within the /GroundObject folder of each and every mods folder.

 

extraction of the soundlist.ini (as supplied by KJakker), placement in the /Flight folder of each and every mods folder... and so on

After a while i got it working. Just needed to find out to rename the xxx placeholder in the soundlist.ini to proper numbers ,lol.

Ran a quick test yesterday just before bedtime. Today i will add sounds to every ship.
