Hey CA!  Through my own and many other's efforts we have much strike eagle goodness coming down the pipeline and some have already rolled out!  The FM update the loadout updates and the wonderful cockpit repaint done by viper63a.  However what we need for all fans of the Mudhen here at CA is a completely new cockpit for the Strike Eagle and her variants.  Unfortunately the work required to build a new cockpit is outside of my skill set.  I humbly reach out to the awesome CA community for this request!

To add I found a great 3d F-15E cockpit for sale but is not for the SF series if someone agrees to help port the cockpit to the SF series I will be more than willing to pay for the cockpit!

I'm not so sure we need an entirely new pit. In my opinion, the F-15E's we have now is one of my favorite 3rd party cockpits. The dynamic MFDs are amazing. I imagine it would take an incredible amount of work just to set those up on a new scratch-built pit.

But while we're on the subject, here's something I think is much higher priority for immersion on this aircraft. Compare the F-15C and E to the stock A:

The canopies don't look like glass. No shininess at all. It's the only flaw in these otherwise outstanding models.

All that's needed is to adjust the specular/glossiness/reflection of the material and re-export. I know it would be a pain in the ass for FastCargo (or whoever has access to the Max files) to do that for each .lod and then re-upload everything, but theoretically all it would take is 10 minutes and a shot of Red Bull.

I think someone ages ago dug into hex-editing of LODs to change specularity on meshes

would be cool if Mue could do sort of extension to his LOD-viewer that could allow us to do so

as for the pit -yeah pretty much, the mesh isn't the problem, the modelling and setting up of (faked) modern MFDs is the biggest PIA

WBS, we were working on those models during the Summer of 2005; that's 11 years ago!  So yes, they are quite long in tooth, and are due for a replacement that sports all  the trimmings (specular & bump mapping, hi-poly model, etc.).

Yep, I'm aware. Those Eagles were among the first mods I downloaded for SFP1 back in 2008. But I try not to think about it too much since it makes me feel old...

Anyway, having all the bells and whistles would be great, but I'd be happy to see even a few incremental improvements that don't require major 3D/texturing work.
