+MigBuster Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 The Mexican Air Force has quietly retired its tiny fleet of just eight Northrop F-5E and two F-5F Tiger IIs http://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/5261/the-mexican-air-force-no-longer-has-any-fighter-aircraft-in-its-inventory Quote
TeargasHorse Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 It is going to be tough for Mexico to buy F-16s or 18s when they are paying for the wall. Maybe they could opt for A-10s for counter drug ops, seems like a better, cheaper choice? 1 Quote
fallenphoenix1986 Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 Thinking more along the lines of an F/A-50 squadron myself... or if they really push the boat out leased Gripens in the same manner as Hungary/Thailand/Czech Rep. Whether Mexixco can afford either I don't know.... if they can't support a tiny fleet of F-5's though I can't see them getting far with F-16's or F/A-18's... not that there are any second hand Hornets to be had. +Gepard Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 The F-5E Tiger was a nice little bird. Time to say good by. Quote
