Skyviper Posted July 11, 2017 Posted July 11, 2017 Link to story A KC-130, a refueling tanker, crashed into a rural field in the Mississippi Delta. The reason for the mishap is unknown. 15 Marines dead along with 1 Navy Corpsman. Link to Bing Video of crash. Looking at the vegetation around it, it looks like is just crashed straight into the ground. As in I can't see where they did a wheels up landing. Quote
macelena Posted July 11, 2017 Posted July 11, 2017 I had the pleasure to jump from a VMGR-252 KC-130 about a year ago, great guys. Godspeed Leathernecks Quote
+Typhoid Posted July 11, 2017 Posted July 11, 2017 It sounds like structural failure in flight leading to an attempted landing that didn't make it. Very sad and hits home to me. I lost four friends/shipmates in three crashes that were structural failures in flight of old aircraft still in service. R.I.P., shipmates. Quote
