Fighters have in soviet designation systems uneven numbers in type name. All other birds have even numbers.

So what if is your plane not.

I'm well aware of that but there are simply no gaps in the MiG designations!

Call it MiG-5B. Like Su-7B.

There has been a prop plane Su-7, so the jet was Su-7B.
