I've been lucky enough to be stationed over in the US for a over a year now. The RAF Voyager tanker deployed for Red Flag were kind enough to allow me and other members of the unit on a flight.

A few days later, one of my friends and I went out to the hills overlooking Nellis AFB and got a few good photos too. Unfortunately, even with the decent zoom lens, the pics still aren't quite as clear as I'd have liked but I'm pretty happy with them.

Fantastic photos!  Stationed two years out there with the 64th AGRS and many a TDY from Pope and Barksdale out on the LOLA and revetment side.   I see they removed the sun shades from the revetments and added a barrier in the berm opening, it's been a few years since I've been out there.  Even my house on-base is gone lol

I work over at Creech but usually go to Nellis every few months to use the hospital, BX, ITT etc and it's definitely a spotter's heaven. Nellis probably has more fast jets than the entire RAF lol. Getting to live in Vegas isn't exactly bad either!

Fascinating pics, thanks. Made me quite nostalgic. When I was a young flt lt, my air movements team brought back the last Vulcan deployment to Red Flag in 1979.

For the team, the high point of our deployment was that because of the big Red Flag exercise, all the base accommodation was full, and so was all of the local commercial accommodation. The Nellis base accommodation office ended up putting us in the nearest available empty rooms.

The Dunes casino at the top of the strip in Las Vegas :))))

(that said, Service life being what it was/is, the next job was to Cambodia..  )
