Sky High Posted March 15, 2020 Posted March 15, 2020 I have just downloaded all three of Torno's very promising-looking FW-190's, but all present with the message 'Cannot open file' when I attempt to open them, something I have never previously encountered in files downloaded from CombatAce. Is it possible to correct them or could somebody kindly re-upload the files? Thanks in advance.
+russouk2004 Posted March 15, 2020 Posted March 15, 2020 (edited) try redownload i just dl top 2 and they unzip fine...with 7z Edited March 15, 2020 by russouk2004 1
Sky High Posted March 15, 2020 Author Posted March 15, 2020 Thanks for the prompt reply. I will try again. I read mercier's review of two of the files which said 'corrupt file or unknown format', so I assumed that this might be the case.
Sky High Posted March 15, 2020 Author Posted March 15, 2020 Update: I redownloaded and found the same problem. I then downloaded the WinZip trial utility and it worked.
+Wrench Posted March 15, 2020 Posted March 15, 2020 over the last few years, there's been changes in the zipping softwares -- some older ones no longer work. Always have the most current version 1

You just need to download the latest WinRAR archiver (not lower than wrar560 version) : https://www.win-rar.com/download.html?L=0 By the way, it's completely free. Edited March 16, 2020 by Crawford 1
Gunrunner Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 Don't even bother with WinRAR, go for 7-Zip, it does RAR5 since version 15.something. Friends don't let friends use the RAR formats. 3 2
Sky High Posted March 16, 2020 Author Posted March 16, 2020 (edited) Actually, it was 7-Zip that failed to open it and Winzip (trial version free) succeeded. However, I took Wrench's advice and updated my 7--Zip and that seems to have solved the problem. Thanks to everyone that rowed in so promptly with solutions. [By the way, it was well worth the trouble-Tornos planes and cockpits are top class]. Edited March 16, 2020 by Sky High 2
