Flying from Cyprus

For some reason I’ve got a sudden desire to fly some 1980’s RAF missions from Cyprus over Lebanon and Syria. Do any of the modded IsraelME or any other maps have working airbases (presumably R.A.F. Akrotiri) on Cyprus?

Or if you wanted to go more towards Suez timeframe RAF Nicosia............As far as I know no RAF fighters ever flew the Syria or Lebanon corridors, and I was based at Akronelli in the 80's The U2's used to fly oveer there from Akrotiri but none of the Detachments did, and we would have known about it if they were as we would have gone on super high alert status.

I was thinking of the deployment of Buccaneers in Operation Pulsator in 1983

A good starting  point to then escalate from recon missions to full combat ops.

I think your interest come from DCS Syrian map announcement. The campaign your proposing sounds fun as well as the USN bombing of Syria as well.

You can fly from Akortiri in ISRAEL 2 FULL SCALE map.

DCS Syria does look nice but I don't have the time or the system to do it justice.

Got Israel 2 and IsraelME both working with the bases on Cyprus and carriers. 

Maybe time for another screenshot story soon...

I am dreaming of a campaign on a "full scale war" between Syria and western allies (Italy, USN, British and French Navy)
