OrangeFr3ak92 Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 I noticed that the R-13M in real life is painted to look like the AIM-9 with a dark grey tip and forward fins, however in the Strike Fighters 1 and 2 series, it's painted white. Is this a modelling error by Third Wire or were R-13Ms also painted white in real life? Quote
RustyKurnass Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 TW fault. But here in the forum the various modder realised the missile in the correct colors with the anodized metallic shade for the forward fins and guidance section Quote
Wrench Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 Moved to the correct Forum ... as this is a GAMING question about the SF2 series, it's now where it belongs. NOT in the Real Life (tm) Military forum Quote

+Gepard Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 (edited) R-13M AA-2D Advanced Atoll So it looks in reality: Grey head, green ring, white body and fins. In background R-2R missile. Edited August 22, 2020 by Gepard 5 1 Quote
+ravenclaw_007 Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 some more detail pictures of the R-13M that i made at the Wehrtechnische Studiensammlung Koblenz , check the last picture that missile has russian and english warnings on the wings and instead of a nozzle there is a cast ring with holes , maybe Gepard knowse what this part is for , on life missiles this part is not present also interesting is the holding mechanism for the front wings on the launch rail Quote
