ralch Posted May 16, 2021 Posted May 16, 2021 Hi everyone, Do you know if there is a way to make the game force a limit of G's for a plane? For example, the F-16A_Netz or the great F-16 mods available in combatace, I can pulls as many G's I want, 11Gs, 12Gs, you name it. I would like that plane to be limited at 9G's as God intended it. Thank you Quote
+EricJ Posted May 16, 2021 Posted May 16, 2021 Open the respective Data.ini and go to [FlightControl] and change MaxG= to whatever value you want. Note you can still go higher but you'll just black out at 9g, which is good enough to not go over. 1 Quote
+Gepard Posted May 16, 2021 Posted May 16, 2021 The 9g limit has in reality less to do with the plane, but with the pilot. 9g is the maximum what a human can sustain for a certain time. For short periodes higher g's are possible and the plane can withstand it without trouble. I remember that during Vietnam war a MiG-21, after a missile evading maneuver, came home with 11 or 12 g on the clock. And when the Luftwaffe tested the MiG-29 in early 1990th over g's were not seldom. 1 Quote
+yakarov79 Posted May 16, 2021 Posted May 16, 2021 Not to mention that G-limit varies inversely to the load airplane is carrying. The G-limit decreases as the load is increased. Can we do it properly in the SF2 environment? That said, stories of over-G in combat situations often occurred while airplanes were heavily loaded. Quote
+EricJ Posted May 16, 2021 Posted May 16, 2021 I don't think it's possible in SF2 as I've flown with no G penalties whatsoever heavily loaded before. Quote
+baffmeister Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Here's a link to an F-16 mod that "somewhat" models the automatic G-Limiter on the F-16. It just dumps lift at a bit over 9G's so you can piss away all your speed if you're on the limiter for too long. https://combatace.com/forums/topic/94348-sf2-f-16a/?tab=comments#comment-763194 Quote
