on Auto land, the aircraft is too low and hits the back of the carrier then  straightens up on the deck. Is this a known fact, or  can it be fixed ? also, i still haven't figured out how to populate the deck with personnel and equipment

Try experiment with this value .

[FlightControl]
LandingSpeed=76.4

Try the settings of TW´s A-6E. Should work.

was using the 3W but upped the landing speed and now perfect .. thank you all for your help

Regarding populating the deck with personnel and equipment, you may have been looking at screenshots of YAP carriers that have these built into the model.

wonder if that upper the speed might fix the issue the Buckeye ??? Not getting ramp strikes, but "floats" over the wires

while they're minor meshes added, they do impact frame rates a bit. And with a lot of high poly birds parked on the roof ... it changes.
