Besides looking at the site shows that you can't do US Army, so I'll keep it around just in case I feel like looking stuff up.

says who? the Army uses the same serial system as the Air Force. just type in the aircraft type and get a result like so

I see, neat. Yeah they had the MH-60 so I'll think on it if I want to do serial numbers for the helos, thanks.

my links are to joe baughers site. first is direct to search engine, the second was results of a UH-60L search to show EricJ that Army birds can be found

personally i find it most useful for confirming losses, modifications and retirement dates. unit assignment info on there is ..... abit trickier

it's too bad that you can't do troops and a real helicopter FM. I haven't tried MSFS24 yet and seen some reviews of the flight model for it. A3 is better for helicopters as while it's not perfect, I like flying it a lot. I love SOAR stuff and wish we could do more. But nice work though, looks good.

Hell, I would gladly settle for GTAV's simple rotary flight model using mouse and keyboard to be somehow magically implanted into SF2's engine just to be able to zip around a battlefield blasting ground targets and then drop in sharp on a helipad / ship to re-arm.

That would be cool, but the fact is that it would mainly be infantry targets and maybe a convoy with miniguns, but the DAPs and the like would work for CAS and such.

In WIP thread, I showed a bunch of pilots with AVS-6/9. I actually thought it would be cool to put a few Operators on the left and right doors and set them all as gunners.

We can't switch whether they use NODs, maybe it would be better if I set up a separate MH-60L for NIGHT_ONLY?

Oh and, I have got permission from guuruu to for the well designed helicopter FM, great work!

For DAPs,I already tested join missions with APKWS and Hellfire(from dels AH-64 mod), they were working great.

APKWS is hell of a rocket, blow everything up.

imo in SF2, MH-60s are suitable for COIN war script which need missions been certain modified.

A couple of thoughts on the NODs, they could either be animated manually like alexis99 suggests here:

Or I wonder if there is a way of hijacking the slimer self-illuminating feature described here that would need doing in 3ds max?

Thank you, I'm already familiar with these two techniques.:drinks:

But the problem is that the premise of using ANIMATION KEY is that the crews and the aircraft need to be integrated, that is, we don't use the pilot folder, but directly weld their models into cockpit, so that we can indeed let them turn on/off NOD by the same way of opening and closing the cabin door. Thing is, if we do that, we won't be able to replace the crew, so I'm wondering if we should do this.Maybe it makes sense for 160SOAR tho...

Slimer is a good idea indeed:good:But I still need to figure out a way to keep them from lighting up with all the lights.

have them on constantly (anytime the aircraft is drawing power basically) but set low enough brightness to be unnoticeable in daylight would be my thought

but i also thought setting them up as part of the model (rather than as system in data.ini) did that

guuruu is really good at this,by using his beautifully crafted FM, I even felt like I was piloting this bird in ARMA3, all hats off to him!

yup..and AI can usually land this birds.

One thing though, Yes all those special ultra uber jayhawk, pavehawks, blisters and whistlers are cool. In fact any CSAR ( I mean saving lives not taking them) is way much cooler than any fighter jet. But for sure some old farts here would appreciate clean and  slick UH-60A placed somewhere in 80s.

edit:

Ok  now I can see L.... well this one is clean but A. is classic:ok:
