Clear your browser history, delete your cookies from our site, close and restart your browser then check. The only permission you need is to be logged in, guests can't mark forums as read. Erik

Yeah that sometimes happens but we give you 6 downloads a day as a new member. If I may suggest make sure you're not using a download accelerator which opens multiple connections and downloads files in segments. Sometimes known as download boosters or speed boosters. When I look at your download log I see multiple downloads of the same file which usually indicate this is happening. There's a big red exclamation point on all the download pages about it because we want everyone to be aware of things. Our system counts each connection as a download so if you open six connections for one file you've burned up your daily limit. There maybe some changes coming up when we upgrade software but for now that is how things work. Here's what I'm seeing on your log: Hope that helps, Erik

I misunderstood what you were looking for. Specifically you need someone to help you out with production. Putting all the pieces together packaging them up with screenies and readme.txts then dropping them into our downloads section in the appropriate area with all the information required to do so which will include uploading the final package and such. Is that more accurate?

This is a complaint we've heard many times from the modding group as a whole. Most people are unaware of the hours of exhausting work that goes into detail. While most modders have accuracy and function in mind it simply takes time to get it released into production. If your specialty and enjoyment comes from a certain aspect of modding then putting a team together of guys that do different things usually works best. Seems like you've tried this which is a good thing. What I can do to help relieve the burden is provide you a private forum which will allow you to coordinate your work before it gets released. If this means that it slows down the overall rate at which things are released so the model guys, skin guys, aircraft data ini guys all get their work done the adoring audience will just have to wait. Don't let anyone one person distract you from what you enjoy that's when this hobby becomes a boring task. Trust me and keep your wits about you there's nothing worse than that end game for the modders themselves and the ones who just like to download shiny new bits and bobbles for their enjoyment. Sad and yet amazing to see. Good generation lost to salvage but the girls they've been replaced by are 20 times the machine they were, at least we better hope so we've got 1/20th of the fleet we had back in those days. That was only the one minute one. I had to go back to the devs on some of their db conversion stuff, seems they didn't quite have it all worked out. That's what happens when one of their oldest customers tests out the new gear. The good news is I found a bunch of stuff that's going to get dumped on your plate after we're moved. That's kinda funny I think. All those files in that link are from right here at CA. When you mouse over the links they all point to combatace.com/files/ I guess that's a good thing. Another thing to mention is I hope you guys know "we" as in CombatACE host all those other sites meaning they are on our equipment, we pay the bill. So downloading from them is the same as downloading from us it's all part of our bandwidth. Nobody has interfered with those downloads as that was never the intent of the site. However, as their sites continue to get older and older the source code they operated on will become obsolete which is why everything was moved here and, like was mentioned above, to preserve them for history and nostalgia sake. We are more than we appear always have been but are very glad to be a part of it all.

Yes that's been our standard since 2010 - 11'ish. It's the only way we could/can keep the doors open after 5,712,487 downloads. Talk about tooting one's own horn (sounds not included). That was added to a post in September 2012 to clear up some already in place download limits. http://combatace.com/topic/74864-downloading-from-combatace/ There were a few reasons for the implementation but the bottom line was budget. At the time it was costing us twice what we were making in income to sustain the masses and in any circumstance that would quickly end in disaster. These days we are 80 - 85% sponsored by our downloads and by publishing ads for Google. They each play about a 50% part in the money they add to our bottom line. Without them we'd be just another closed sign at the end of a web address.

I've been installing new software behind the scenes. I'm basically creating a duplicate site to test with. On installing the new software I forgot to uncheck the setting for email. So that board was sending out email for about an hour until one of our members alerted me to the fact that it was sending email. Thank you B! CombatACE makes its biggest MOVE in history! We're not just a little 1 GB site anymore. We will be moving to our new software soon. The new software will take some getting used to, I'm not going to lie, but it's 1000% better than what you're using today. I'm excited about the things it's going to bring to our community and all of you guys. Should be fun. I'll update this post again when we're getting closer to a launch date.
