  1. Yes the background is set by us depending on the skin you're using. If you don't want an image with a background you'll have to make one with a transparent background then it will look right on all colored backgrounds.
  2. While we host the site we don't maintain it. In fact most of the files are here anyway. As to why it's not working, the site uses java script which is either outdated or not allowed to run on your computer. The changes in supporting and running java in many browsers has changed dramatically lately. For more support on that you'd have to read the support topics for supporting java on your particular browser and machine.
  3. You can have my Soviet Font maybe it will be what you need or close enough. soviet.7z
  4. My reply above was and is completely tongue and cheek in response to your post preceding it. I disagree with your doom and gloom position by saying since there's little support for your idea that CA is going to close it's doors. It's no surprise to any of us that TK decided to move on to other ventures. We have done our part by keeping the SIM active but we also recognize that the platform will eventually be entirely dead when it's code base no longer runs on new machines, etc. We've hoped that there would be another SIM that comes along that has drawn as much interest as the SF series. That aside it is not who we are as a community and I'm very grateful that a lot of people distinguish the two separately. Subscriptions keep the community alive here and provide you all a place to share your content you create. Just because modders aren't creating things for a specific game or interest has fallen off shouldn't detract anyone from supporting CA. You on the other hand view contributions as something you're purchasing just for you. If I had that attitude, or Dave, or Alex, or the community none of this would exist. If you want to pay someone to 3D model then I suggest you get with that person and determine how much it's going to cost. Then find out what it's going to take to sell said product from taxes to licensing fees. Then and only then will you be able to set realistic goals that folks can get behind. However to just ask folks to blindly crowd source something, as you've found, won't garner that much attention. There are just too many variables involved. So create it, fund it, and sell it. If it's as good as you say there will be people who purchase it. However a lot of folks have been there done that and it's not all it's cracked up to be. I will almost guarantee it won't be anything anyone can retire on. It's why the modders do things they want based on interest and ability. They share those creations with all of you for free. That's a tremendous thing in and of itself so before you go around lighting fires do your footwork and develop a business plan. This is my humble opinion, but as I said before I will defer to those that know more than I do. They are here and maybe one day will be involved in the discussion. Erik
  5. Do335 I think you hit on the real problem, thank you. CA has never had a year where we paid our bills and had a surplus. What is more accurate is that each month we struggle to make "maybe" 50% of our operating costs. You ever wonder who picks up the rest of bill? Well, since it's clear to me now that you've forecast our demise I might as well call it quits. So let's all thank Do335 because the end of the month is nearing, our bills are almost due, and I'm losing interest just like Do335. Sorry folks, stick a knife in me, I'm done. Erik
  6. I don't want to rain on anyone's parade but this is essentially payware. The temptation to convert freeware to payware is a big factor, not to mention any licensing agreements you'd need in place from the game developers but potentially the real life manufacturer. Money is a huge motivator for the starving artists among us but it's plagued with many downfalls as well. Anytime you sell something the expectations climb and so many folks in the community have been burned by people with good and bad intentions. I'll defer to the more informed among us but you should be aware of the limitations and downfalls upfront. This community isn't very forgiving when it comes to stuff like this, it's why most people looking to sell their wares develop first and charge later.
  7. I have to say I've seen it all now. Today we incurred 80 minutes of downtime. One of our RAID cards had it's heat sink separate from the control card itself, this threw a heat fault and the machine powered down. The controller was replaced with a new card and that machine was restarted which brought our services back online. This is one of those things that you just can't plan for. I apologize for the downtime but we are back online 100%. Thanks, Erik
  8. We had a forced restart this morning after our scan agent detected a file structure issue. Downtime was approximately 35 minutes while the disks were being managed. I apologize for not being able to provide a heads-up before the restart. However, everything is back up and running at a 100%. Thank you.
  9. PM ArgonV I bet he can sort it out.

    New Badges

That's what I would have available.
  11. Over the last few days we've been moving the contents from one online community into our site. There is no easy way to port this type of information over other than to move it by hand. This moving is creating new topic and download notifications throughout the site only. I apologize for what I now understand is annoying to some but I ask that those folks please have patience while the move is being done. If you need to more clearly define the activity you're interested in viewing I recommend you use the View New Content feature.
  12. Let me know how it's working for you.
  13. I've been pretty happy with the new mobile skin and making updates as I find them. Your feedback is always helpful.
  14. Should be fixed. Enjoy.
  15. This is an ISP problem. I've contacted Windstream if this persists please open a new ticket with them. Thank you.
  16. This is part of the preparation for new software but won't be solution. The new software was recently released and I won't be upgrading until they've worked through all the bugs and had a few point revisions. It's in the pipe though so things are looking up.
  17. There will be some downtime on our systems briefly as a reboot is necessary. The majority of the reboot time will be the integrity file check. Thank you for understanding.

    HOLY CRAP!

I agree this is just unforgivable. In port with calm weather. Reassigned to kitchen duty I hope. Then again the military sent out 22 shipments via FedEx of LIVE ANTHRAX. What's going on these days?
  19. Jarhead you've done a lot already. Couldn't want or expect more. Thank you. Stary you're good until October 2016 from what I can see. Thank you. Thanks all for the support.
  20. It's that time of year when we are tasked with paying the bills and we're asking for your help and support. Please take a moment and renew older subscriptions or sign up for a new one today and of course donations are always appreciated. Your continued support for all we do is important to us and we are grateful for your help seeing us into 2016. Here's to another great year ahead. Subscribe or Donate From all of us at CombatACE, thank you for your support.
  21. Sending you a PM.
  22. Indeed a tremendous loss. He will be missed. Clear skies and tailwinds my friend.
  23. I'm sorry you feel this way. Call your congressman and complain about it. It's been offered that this is the way the FCC can regulate the internet under the Title II jurisdiction it has while offering the public and private business the safeguards it can. This will help private business from being extorted by the cable providers. Just recently Sony released that their PS4 / HBO GO customers on Comcast won't be able to use this service because Comcast blocked it. This after they extorted Netflix last year. Regardless of the examples provided that internet service providers like Comcast are up to no good you're still "stanning" for them. Comcast is fearful that the internet will take over their TV customers. Why pay $140 to Comcast when you can stream it over the internet and pay for exactly what you want in an al la carte type service. This is off track however but the rules are now public and they will be challenged by the cable companies and I wouldn't doubt that within the year SCOTUS will rule on it's legality. So please stop yelling fire in a crowded theater it doesn't help your arguments in the slightest. I mean first you complain about only wanting to only pay for what you use and we fought to give you just that now you're complaining this is exactly what you didn't want because it's "invasive and oppressive". I mean how else could it be? The way it is right now with no regulation and running under the free commerce idea can't continue because the cable companies challenged it. We didn't challenge the ideas and founding principals of the internet. The cable providers couldn't resist extorting new business, we didn't start this fight, they did. We worked to have our voice heard, it was, and the decisions are in our favor. I appreciate you sticking with this, but you of all people should recognize when you're swimming with the sharks. Keep swimming they promise they won't eat you.
  24. Good news. This morning, the FCC released the full text of the historic new net neutrality rules, and now it’s clearer than ever that these rules will protect free speech, and that Comcast and their allies in Congress have been lying to you. You can read them in full here -- but since it's 313 pages (of fiery, Comcast-slaying justice), we wanted to give you a quick rundown of what the rules do and don't do. But don't stop reading after the summary, because Comcast is already on the attack and there's more to do right now. • ISP’s and their friends in government can't block you from visiting a website. So you can visit any site that you want. • They can't slow down access to websites. So the sites you want to visit will come to you as quickly as the sites Comcast wishes you were visiting. • They can't speed up or make certain websites load faster. This is absolutely critical, because if they could speed up certain sites, that functionally means slowing down other sites. • They can’t get between you and any content, application, service, or anything else that you want to access online. That is explicitly one of the rules. Just in case the other rules don’t cover something. • There are no new taxes or fees anywhere in the rules, and there’s nothing limiting investment. At all. Period. All of that is to say two simple, wonderful words: we won.
