SERVER MOVE UPDATE - 8, January 2015: All systems moved and online 100%. Have fun and thanks for understanding during our downtime. I'll be posting again when we upgrade our site software which should be sometime soon. Erik

The downloads, gallery, and blog are now offline. The final backup and move is starting and the main site may see some downtime. This is planned and we will be back as soon as possible. Thank you.

UPDATE JAN 7, 2015 - Our files have all been synced to the new machine and we are ready to move. Tomorrow morning there will be some downtime where all our sites will be offline. The site will need to be shut down so I can get an accurate snapshot of current files and update the new machine. This process may take up to an hour but should only be a few minutes. I'll post back in this topic 1 hour prior to shutting us down. Thanks in advance for understanding our downtime tomorrow. Erik

UPDATE JAN 05: New server online and partially migrated. Data continues to move today. The actual transfer may happen as early as tomorrow. I'll keep this post updated as we get further along.

This shouldn't affect anyone but in the off chance you notice some slower (sluggish) response times over the next week here's the why. CombatACE is in the process of moving our port 80 machine (the one that handles the website pages) to a new machine. This is in preparation for a major site upgrade that's coming soon that will bring us into 2016 with guns blazing. So standby and I'll keep this post updated as necessary and be sure to let you know when we're all moved then what to to expect for the site upgrade. For now carry on as normal and pardon us if we seem a bit busy in the background because we definitely will be. Erik

Happy New Year All !!! Praying for all the displaced families by mother nature during the holiday season. You're all strong people and my heart goes out to you all. May each of your first day in the new year be filled with relaxation, good friends, and family. Cheers!

GParted or Gnome Partition Manager I don't know if you're using it but if you're not you should. The latest release is free and you can download the ISO and burn a bootable CD in a matter of minutes. Boot with the CD and move entire partitions with a simple copy / paste and it only takes minutes. This is the best backup you can have of your all your files and operating system. Want to move to a bigger drive no problem GParted does this just as easy. I just can't imagine a better tool and I've had to use it quite a bit lately. I highly recommend you get a new second drive and mirror your current drive then if anything happens pull the drive out of your desk and slap it in and it will boot just like your current machine and you'd never know you were using a new hard drive. Do this weekly to keep your files up to date on your drive copy and you'll never loose anything again. I sound like a pitch man but serious it's FREE as part of the Linux community. Disk management made easy, get GParted. Erik

To all our friends and family, The holidays are upon us and I wonder to myself where this year went. It's the season to wish one another joy, love, and peace. Our wishes for you are to have the happiest of holidays no matter how you celebrate the season, may you give and receive love throughout this time of year, and may you all find warmth and celebration with family and friends. We'll see you in 2016! Be well and happy holidays, From all of us at CombatACE

New drive is in and ready to rock 'n roll. I'll start the process to mirror our files shortly and before too long (22 days or so) it should have a complete copy of everything here. The links to the mirror will automatically restore on each file as it's duplicated on the mirror. All systems up and running. E

I was told I couldn't see it until the B&C could go (possibly destroying the whole movie) but it's a sacrifice I have to make. So no spoilers dammit. E

The files mirror server ate a drive over the weekend and will be offline until one arrives to replace it. After 2 long years of pounding away day in and day out we have to say goodbye to our dearly departed friend. Never again will I buy Seagate crap I'll stick with Western Digital. Had some WD drives that are 20 years old and still going strong. What a waste of good platters. *moment of silence is observed*

I can't believe this. The technology these guys are talking about is hokus pokus. Yeah the magnet in my belt buckle is going to interact with the gravity of the earth to course correct my non-constant body resistance through a 15 square foot hole. Okay Batman, if you say so. Also if you look at his recoil from the tramp it's not proportional especially for his mass in free fall. These guys took every law of physics and threw it out the window. I'm calling BS. I won't believe it unless I see this with my own eyes. Funny video tho.

A Suggestion Regarding Top Left Logo Images.

2MB is a nice image size to reduce from so it's not grainy. I like the aspect wider than taller but most stuff can be worked with. Have fun making your submissions. -

If you provide me high definition photos of them flying with a blue background I'll make them. We don't need to wait. -
That's not an easy question but from my viewpoint I think the overall patron base is declining but at a slower rate than most would tell you. The natural progress of life sees some go and new pilots getting old enough to want to be involved in what we do. I think it's important for the various communities whether they are Flanders, IL2, Microsoft Sim, Thirdwire, etc. that they keep things alive by being active and welcoming the new blood to the fold. I'm a firm believer that if you believe something it generally comes true. I try to always keep a positive attitude about everything and give the best we can so that folks know we're a safe harbor they can always find. Glad each of you took the time to be part of everything we do here.

16 on the 25th of December which is quickly coming up. Wow how time flies.

It's just the way the developers wanted it set up.

Noticed some of you posting again and just wanted to say thank you for keeping the forums at least alive. Didn't see any posts about having problems at simhq so I just assumed you guys were looking out for us and posting here too. Thank you, and I do notice you guys when you're around. Erik

Maybe. I was hoping for something that was like the others and not a picture of the actual badge so they all are matchy matchy so hopefully there's one like that in existence. I know I looked through a couple pages of images but the badge is so rare there just aren't any. Thanks for the effort, I thought about removing the background but it just didn't look right when I did. Erik
