Actually those are probably FAA controllers at Oshkosh as well. I know here in the NW we work the Arlington Airshow, which is the big one in this part of the country. Some day I'll bid it... Of course working traffic at those events is wayyy different from working the daily stuff. Lots of controllers working divided up jobs, color coordinated landing zones, no airliners, loosened rules, etc. Fun stuff though.

Being behind the curve sucks. At least when they're on the ground they're pretty safe. I have zero interest in working somewhere as busy as JFK. I'll stay under level 10 for my career.

Hmm. I'm not seeing that on my end. I had one from the midships that I was able to fix. How do you get the names and numbers to show? In the mission editor I don't get any names and one will have no number and one will have a 1. The problem with editing the Fletcher is the model and max are all screwy. I'd have to remap the whole thing texture wise...not fun. I'd like to redo the model some day as it was just a quicky project. It literally took 2 weeks from inception to release...

Nice catch, I'll fix it. Glad it works. I used the new exporter and exported it with decals. I think thats what did the trick for the decals. Other additions are specular maps and bump maps, and updated TGA mapping for the radars. Wish I could do more, like go back and do proper smoothing, but Max crashes whenever I try. EDIT: Fixed and uploaded the new names file.

View File Fletcher Fletcher Class Destroyer (1941-46)v1.1 by GrinchWSLG This is representative of a war era Fletcher. To be exact its a late war version. The model is a mix of different ships, specifically the Kidd and the Sullivans. Its finished in Measure 22. A paintkit is included for those who want to finish it in the various other Measures used during the war. V1.1: Updated to SF2:NA/March 2012 patch standards. If you intend to use this with a previous version of the game, either use the FS1 version or expect some weirdness. Installation: 1. Place the Fletcher folder in User/Saved Games/Thirdwire/StrikerFighters2(whatever version you use)/Objects/GroundObject 2. That's it. List seemed kind of dumb with just one item. The default texture is 2048 as its a big object. If this is too large for you or you plan on having many Fletchers on screen, I've included a 1024x1024 texture as well. Its located in the 1024Texture folder. Credits Wrench- wouldn't have made it if he hadn't asked. Hinchinbrooke- I used your Daring as the base for the .ini Typhoid- Weapons advice Ghost029- More weapons info This mod is released under the CombatAce Thirdwire Community Freeware Licensing Agreement (or whatever its called). As such it may not be used in payware, proper credit should be given in the readme file of any freeware it is released in, and if feasible include the original readme. (Okay, you don't really have to include this little readme.) Not my fault if it somehow destroys your computer. Iceland. Seems like it fixed itself. Still can't get the TGAs working on the Fletch. Actually I'm running into a bunch of problems with the Fletcher... seems like the max file I have isn't the final one... Just going to take some fixing though so I'm working on it. In the meantime I went through the data.ini and updated it with new lines that NA introduced.

I have no idea what this "map issue" is. Is it just scrunching up the decal you're trying to apply? Just got NA today, just so I can figure out how I need to update the Fletcher. Update: Holy bugs batman. For some reason my TGA textures aren't loading and neither is my land textures. Oh well. I'll see what I can do about decals.

New entrys on SF2 NA
GrinchWSLG replied to KnightWolf45's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Knowledge Base
I'm fairly interested in your experimentation here. Good to see we can get something working already, even if it's a bit buggy. I'd really like to know if you map that terrain lod with a texture whether it will show that instead of what the game is generating... Also we should start peicing together the steps needed to create a custom terrain so we can put a tutorial together. -

Me like. Anyone ever play Aero Elite Combat Academy? The random scrambles in that were freakin great. -

I'd like to do a 3 monitor set up too. Unfortunately my 24" monitor is still new enough I don't want to replace it, but just old enough you can't find any more of the bloody things. That and I just bought a monitor arm that mounts to my desk, and in my lack of forward planning, didn't get one that would hold 3 monitors. Ah well. -
Okay, what happened to all the modern stuff they were working on? I thought they were remaking Lock On or at least going to release an F-15 component. Now some random P-51? Strange.

I'm pecking away when I can. I've got the mid tonight so I'll have a long weekend and hopefully I'll get more work done. Of course I also have another winter project I picked up last week... -
Hurc's Nellis Range Mod

Is the ASR Radar a stock object? Has the animation time on it always been 2.0? Way too fast, only noticed it cuz it was next to the runway as I was landing. Should take 6 seconds per sweep. Make ASR Radar AnimationTime=6.0 in Desert_Types if you want true realism boys.
