  6. Like many of us, I like high resolution textures. There is always some performance hit with them. But they make a huge difference, and are worth it IMO. I decided to see if I could get some decent effects by simply enlarging the tiles, and putting them through a texture filter. Basically using the color information on these larger, blurry tiles to generate sort of a elevation map. Its not perfect for sure, but it does add detail. And these tiles can be created very quickly. I did about half of the terrain tiles in 30 minutes. Here is a shot show new beside old. To me, it looks better. I would like to make them look alittle more different though. For one thing, make the sand have the ripples, or waves in it as seen in the real world. But the fact that the tiles get rotated makes this imposable to get to look right. Anyway, what to you guys think. I plan to finish it out of course, but some of the other tiles will have to be done a little different. So they will take longer. The farm tiles turn out looking funny when put through this.
  7. Ok, I've read, and re-read how to add weapons to campaigns. But I can't get anything I try to work, can't figure it out. All I wanted to do was to add the AGM-65A, and Rockeye to the F-4E Kurnass in the Yom Kippur campaign. Tired of this "attack 40 tanks defended by shilka's" with dumb bombs crap. All it will let me have is WW2 weapons. From what I've read, these planes had the 2 weapons I listed available at that time. So, I want them... NEED them lol. I read Bunyaps tutorial on how to add weapons, but I must be missing something, or something has changed with WOI. Before that I did as bunyap said, copied it to the campaign folder, renamed it, and edited it, didn't work. The other thing is, in some of the missions I can jump around to other aircraft, F-4's in other flights, and they are sometimes loaded with the said weapons. And they don't have them listed in the Campaign file as above either. I checked the date range of the weapons and they say 1973, and thats the start date for the campaign. Do I need to set them to 1972 or something? What else is there to do? Is there another file to edit. surely someone else has already done this, or attempted to. Or is it un-historical to do so?
  8. Well, I figured it out. I had to use the weapons editor, and put a check in the Israel box. Now the weapons show.

TK said that the new campaign engine kept track of everything. Maybe the Quantity of a weapon represents the Quantity for the whole Airforce. What I'm saying is if another aircraft has the same weapon listed in the campaign data, with a different quantity it would cause a problem?
  11. Yeah, like I said 1973 for the mav A. Yom Kippur start date 73. I must be rusty, I've been fool'n around with these games for along time. Never posted here much though. I just have one question, Have any of you tried to add a weapon to a default aircraft, in any of the default WOI campaigns?
  12. Well, I tried that lol. Now I have no weapons for any of the aircraft... Good thing I backed it up. Before I did that, I did have the latest one by the mirage factory(weapons pack)

  14. Thanks Stary :) 1 more question. Bit more difficult one though. I've dl'ed the Mirage Factory's weopons, and F-4's and installed them. I'm having fun with the campaigns, I decided I would edit the Yom kippur war campaign to use their F-4. Well, I figured out how to do that thanks to bunyap's walk though in the Knowledge Base forum. Only one problem, I decided I needed to have at least 1 maverick missile to go with it :) So I picked the AGM-65A I added it to the list in my new WOICAMP4_DATA file below the aircrafts entry like this: Supply[012].WeaponType=UK1000LB Supply[012].Quantity=40 Supply[013].WeaponType=Tank370_F4 Supply[013].Quantity=240 Supply[014].WeaponType=Tank600_F4 Supply[014].Quantity=120 Supply[015].WeaponType=AGM-65A <------ Supply[015].Quantity=40 <------ But still it doesn't appear in the load-out screen in the campaign. Can't quite figure this one out. Anyone else done this yet? I considered just deleting TK's F4 Kurnass and replacing it with the Mirage Factory's F4 IDF. Just renaming all the files in the MF's F4 to the same names as TK's F4, and deleting TK's. And then seeing if it would appear in the campaign with the weapons set that MF gave it. I did see that in the weapons data ini that the service start year for the AGM65A is indeed 1973.
  15. I have a quick question or 2 while were at it. How to you lock onto ground targets with mavericks? What is the process, step, by step? I've searched the forums and haven't found anything. Also, I play the game with all difficulty settings on hardest. How do you identify a ground target that your supposed to bomb ( Destroy enemy building in the area ) without the boxes and triangles?

  18. Dude, I love your Tomahawk model. :) And I would love to give it a great skin. But I can't. Not like I want to anyway. Some important areas need to be re-maped. The exturnal cockpit, wheel wells, and the radiator cowling front textures. Perhaps you could add separate files for each, simular to that new P-47N. I could make such an awsome skin for this plane, but I'm not going to put all the hours needed to when it has these problems. 1. This pit is no where to be found. I could be looking in the wrong place, but if its like some other things, it would'nt mater if I found it. 2. Everything that is green in this pic shares the same mapping, one little square on the skin file. Not good. 3. Air intake shares the same map as radiator. Makes it impossiable for me to add the level of detail this model deserves. I need separate skin files for each of these things, or they need to be added to the main skin file in another way. In some of these white areas. I really hope you consider putting some more work in this model. Its one of the best i've downloaded.
  19. What do I need to open and edit these. I'm having a problem locating the cockpit textures viewed from the outside of the P-40B by Wolf. I just can't find those textures anywere. Common sence would have them on the main skin file somewhere. In one of those huge white areas. I really wish he would consider remap'n some of it. So I could do it right.
