  1. Do you too live in Europe Javito ? I'm expectin' at least in the time frame given by Olham. Parcels from outsite EU have to pass from Greek Custom Service before passed to Greek Mail... Things are not running so fast, (moreover in Civil Services), in my country you know! I've been reading your pilot's log Javito, what a read! Very lively narrated! You have some talent there, you know...
  2. UK_Widowmaker: Having scratched the surface of P4...in the form of screenshots, proves to me yet again, that whatever the opposition does, it will merely be bettered at every turn! I have the same impression too... Exept from dynamic lighting the cockpits look very similar to the RoF ones, (considered to be state of the art). Plus features like "live" infantry, (along with many others), that RoF lacks.
  3. Just ordered OFF and the clock is ticking backwards to delivery... Vibes, thanks for the kind comments. Expect some updates of my work hosted at Lowengrin's DCG site. I had IL-2 uninstalled, for over a year, (due to a computer melt down I had to reformat) and only recently installed it again, modded with Ultrapack 2.01 with additional mods from SAS and it was like playing a new game... Patch 4.10 will give further push to it. But at the moment, I'm eager to to try OFF Campaign mode... from what I've read from you and the available reviews, excells in every aspect to what I have been playing so far.
  4. I forgot to mention that I passed from the BoB2 too. I have designed some pilots for them...(never finished though) and for a while I was in the development team of BoB2. The game has some strong points nonetheless but,the strategic style of the Campaign was not appealing to me and finally my enthousiasm faded away... I now play Rise of Flight mostly with the addition of Pat Wilson's Campaign Generator. A 3rd party tool that allows you to play a decent historically correct Campaign with many of the aspects, features of the OFF campaign, mentioned above, incorporated, (Aces, Squadrons, Aerodromes, Squadmates, Reports, Medals, Skins, Timeline),with many features fully customisable, but the rather poor RoF planeset is limiting a lot of it's potential resulting to a rather repetitive gameplay... You end up playing the same mission over and over again. I guess I have to try OFF Campaign to compare...(and never come back?)
  5. Now that's impressive! That's making me more sad in the idea that I have to wait for my game to come...
  6. Thanks again all of you guys! You were the most informative not to mention pationate which is really good... I guess I'll be ordering first thing tommorow... I hope it'll arrive soon enough and safely most of all. (I'm a little worried about that). Is there a way for an electronic purchase, (via download?). PS Never played RB3D Javito. I started with CFS2 went to CFS3 but dropped it in favor of IL-2, I've been playing exlusively since, with a small pass from Strike Fighters2 and recently Rise of Flight. (I interchange between the three according to my mood). I have read about the reputation of RB3D though... Thanks for the role play tip!
  7. Thank you all guys! It seems that OFF is what I'm dreaming of such a game-simulation. The attachment to pilots, comradship and mimic real life situations in a historically plausible environment, is what interests me the most. That's why I keep making hardcore historically accurate pilot skins in the games I play...Stratos, (thanks for the comment}. The only thing that bothers me is the mail delivery, (I don't have much respect to the Greek Mail Service), I would prefer an electronic purchase option. BTW here is a small sample of my mod work on pilots for IL-2 and RoF IL-2: Rise of Flight: PS Is a feature like individual skins for pilots is supported by OFF engine? And to introduce myself... I'm the US Navy and German Observer guy in the above pics...
  8. Hi all, I've been recently interested in WWI, I mostly fly-play Modded IL-2 and Strike Fighters 2 series, purely offline. I've already got First Eagles 2 and Rise of Flight. The former never hooked me, the latter is impressive in aspects of visuals and physics, but lacks a full planeset and a decent Campaign mode, (one is in the works at the time speaking). There is a 3rd party Campaign Generator that does the job but still the poor planeset makes the Campaign experience a bit repetitive. I have seen all the OFF related videos by Hellshade and Povolski and found them extremely immersive. OFF comparing to RoF graphically is a downgrade but what about it's Campaign mode? I've been visiting this Forum lately and admired the reasonable and lively OFF Community. Since I have an old CFS3 game, retired and put in a shelf for a long time now...do you recommend buying OFF? I remind you I fly mostly offline, (not unnegotiably however) and I like immersive and historically correct Campaigns. My favorite plane is the D series Albatros (the D.5 particularly for it's sleek and elegant lines). Thanks
  9. Thanks a lot quack74! I have FE2 for quite a while, but never got really into it because of RoF, (Rise of Flight)... I'm eager to revisit it just for this Campaign.
  10. It looks awesome! I would like to give it a try. Does it work for FE2?
  11. I didn't say it was major in the first place... Being originated from IL-2 and also being a Bf-109 enthousiast I can spot those tiny details quite easily...
  12. Comparing the above pics I find many tiny differences among them the supercharger filter. And I disagree with you Dave, sorry... Here what I mean about the windshield and canopy in this photoshop edit: Notice also that the protective backplate should be angled.
  13. I Don't want to flame... but the windshield and canopy seems a bit off...or it's just my impression?
  14. I turned to high and I got effects back but only the default ones not the modded ones I was using. I switched back to unlimited and original effects still there. I exited and reentered game effects lost! Back to high still no effects... I disabled all mods, graphics set to high game worked fine. Graphics unlimited fine again. I started adding mods then. When I add my modded Flight folder from SF2I I lost effects. I disabled it and original effects-back. Something was conflicting inside Flight folder. I tried disabling PARTICLESYSTEM.INI effects working again Enabled back PARTICLESYSTEM.INI and effects still working! I gave up...I don't know if there will be any effects the next time I'll fire up my game, not to mention the modded effects I was using till now are not showing up at all. PS the odd shadows remain either the graphics are set to unlilited or high...
  15. Thanks guys! I'll try with effects set to high tonight...
  16. I installed the new Exp.1 addon on a clean combo install and many effects as: engine smokes, damage smokes, explosions...are missing. The game also contantly crashes upon hitting the esc button to end mission... Does anyone else having those irregular shadows on the pilot helmets? I thought I saw these only on new a/c or am I wrong?
  17. Sorry, not yet available, unfortunatelly... Still working on them with X-RAY. I had to leave on a buisness trip and we both have limited to zero spare time. We are going to present an ultimate Israeli pilots pack, as historically accurate as possible, from the 50s to present....As Soon As Possible...
  18. Wip Preview No 2. Pilots from the sixties sporting all the equipment mentioned in the above posts. Notice the characteristic orange Mk.4 British made life preserver and the faded kakhi flight suit. The above documentary futage revealed that the APH-5 helmet was worn as well so I added one. I have no clear evidence for the type of parachute harness worn by IDF/AF at this period so I added an American back type similar to the one worn by USAF in the Korean War.
  19. OK, but you seem to be far ahead on completing them first. I found the same difficulties gathering info and my own research agrees by 99% with yours. My only objection is the life peserver worn in the early years. According to my findings the most common life vest, worn up to the 70s? was the British Mk.4. See pictures bellow and also some 6 Days War futage including Mirage, Mystere and Vautour pilots wearing the very same vest.
  20. Oh, I didn't know that...I did't want to spoil it for you... I actually used some parts from your great World pilots pack. Being relatively new to the SF series I had to start from somewere...and your excellent work provided a fine basic template. Of course you are mentioned in my credits, among the others who have also mentioned in yours... You'll probably catch me up as I haven't concluded on my research yet. BTW do you know what type of parachute harness was worn during the 60s? I presume American back type like the ones worn in Korea but I'm not quite sure.
  21. Thanks guys, I have found some further info and will be back with an update soon...
  22. Hi guys, Dave, (USAFMTL), the other day, asked me for an Israeli F-15 pilot. Real life obligations and a computer meltdown halted me for a while. Yesterday, I gathered the info I was fishing all this time and started over... In the pic below you can see pilots from the mid 60s and 70s to 80s and 90s with different helmet-mask configurations according to historical documentation. The F-15 and F-16 pilots in the pic are equiped with the first generation DASH helmet (Display And Sight Helmet) from the 90s. Also sporting the official type (F-15, F-16) efficiency patch on the right upper sleeve. All pilots also bearing an Israeli flag patch on the left upper sleeve... More research to be done to have them nailed... More to come from the 50s and early 60s up to date.
  23. Awesome!!!
