    Allora?

  3. The biggest external difference between GR5 and GR7 is in the nose, which is less cluttered with antennas, pods, optics and such, and houses different avionics. Also the pit has a smaller HUD (like the first AV-8B) and an old style moving map display. Anyway, from my point of view, the lack of a gun is not as important as the lack of a radar.
  4. I forwarded your issue to Whitehall sorry, I couldn't resist. They don't work because... well, they don't. Apparently they had jamming and weight problems so the program was scrapped.
  6. Guys, your screenshots look so much better than mine... I'm embarassed. I do need a new rig Anyway I didn't really bother about the gunpods, since they're not operational, but I was sure that someone would eventually make them work. Battler, would you share the ini lines?
  7. You are both correct. The difference between GR7 and GR9 are mostly avionics related. The larger LERX are standard on new built GR9 and have been retrofitted on some older GR7. GR7A is a GR7 with an upgraded engine. The 9A is an upgraded 7A. Anyway the GR9 has not completely replaced the GR7 and they're both operational with Joint Force Harrier.
  8. I'm quite interested in using this technique for my next pits, does anybody have a step-by-step-for-dummies tutorial? It could save a lot of polys and the results I've seen are very close to a full 3d model.
  9. Well, the bird has flown. I just uploaded it and it will be available in a few hours. It took more than expected to finish it, I hope you enjoy it :) I will upload soon a generic TIALD pod, to be used on the Tornado and the Jag.

    Harrier GR7

    1,832 downloads

The Harrier GR7 is a license-built American-designed AV-8B Harrier II fitted with RAF-specific navigation and defensive systems as well as other changes including additional underwing pylons for Sidewinder missiles. The improved design of the GR7 allows the aircraft to carry twice the load of a GR3 over the same distance or the same load twice the distance. First flight of the Harrier GR7 was in 1989, and deliveries to RAF squadrons began in 1990. A total of 96 aircraft were ordered, including 62 interim GR5s which were later modified to GR7 standard. Detailed "readme" file included. The TIALD pod included in this pack is meant to be used only with this plane. Just as a reminder, maximum VERTICAL take-off and landIng weight is 18,950 lbs. If you try to take off vertically with a full load of weapons and fuel, the plane will simply not get airborne and, if you try to land, you'll fall like a brick. Best vertical landings are performed with a 25% fuel load or less, just experiment to find the right compromise. Good hunting bobrock

  12. This is what I know, from an old file I have: PRESSURE_ALTIMETER ---> usable for 4 digits altimeter (needle and digits) PRESSURE_ALTIMETER_1 ---> needle only for 3 needles pressure altimeter (needle only) PRESSURE_ALTIMETER_2 ---> needles and digits pressure altimeter PRESSURE_ALTIMETER_3 ---> needle and digits pressure altimeter (1 needle + 3 digits)
  13. Well, unfortunately I didn't win the lottery and after my (too short) holidays I'm back to business. The plane is on final, I only have to check a few things that I left behind, finish the read-me and it's done. Last teaser pic, showing the loadout options
  14. Mi raccomando, chi dovesse andare faccia un po' di fotografie per quelli che lo vedranno solo in tv. Speriamo solo che il tempo migliori un po'
  15. Nice video, your landings look better then mine!
  16. oops, sorry I missed that. Happy birthday my friend :ghey:
  17. Sorry for the lack of updates on this one, but I really had a hard time finding some info on the TIALD and trying different set-ups, so you can decide to load either LIDS or the pod. I have some work left to do, skinning for example , and some decision to take about the best way to carry those devices. As usual any input is always welcome, here's the result so far.
  18. Thanks Killerbee, first hand intel is always the best. Right now I'm facing some little problem with the avionics set-up. To make the camera work, we've added a fake radar which has only Search and TV modes available (without search I guess TV doesn't work). This is ok, but I'd like to have the ARBS camera on one MFD and a TV scope on the other. Now when I switch to AGM-65s, both MFDs show the same image, if the ARBS is on, that is quite useless. So, the question is, can I have 2 MFDs showing 2 different pictures, one for the radar feed and one for the TV guided missiles?
  19. Thanks for the pics Chris I have that book, but that should be a GR5: narrower HUD and old type map display. GR7 has 2 MFDs As for the TIALD what I'm looking for is a 2 or 3-view drawing with at least a few basic measures. Otherwise I'll use the Litening's size and weight, it shouldn't be too different. Anyway thanks to Canadair we're trying to add a TV ARBS to the avionics package. @ shinobi: no GR5 in the pipeline... not yet ;)
  20. That wouldn't be too hard, but I need to find some good reference for it, by now I only have a few pics. I'll see what I can do ;) As for the pit, you won't find any big surprise here, just an updated RWR and a few difference in the avionics. Sort of half way between the AV8-B and the Plus pits.
  21. Remodeled a few details of the plane and the pit, I only have to finish the last skin. It should be out soon
  22. Dave is correct, it depends on many factors, how they blend, the complexity of the shape... your skills... There's not a correct answer, I usually start modeling the basic shape from the fuselage and then I detach it. Mostly for detailing and texturing purposes. Can you show what you're referring to?
  23. Sul sito di alphasim ci dovrebbe essere un Harrier pack. Non so se è lo stesso
