He's spying on us for TK, getting valuable user feedback.. indirectly. Seriously, you think its coincidence that screens w/ new water showed up after we all said the same water will be blah, in a terrain that's 75% water... then someone mentioned carriers... and voila, carrier shots.... and since someone mentioned the pilots.. bet teh next bunch of screens to have new pilot models.

  5. I actually bought one of those from walmart for $10 for my brother a few years back, since he doesnt SIM like i SIM, he doesnt need an expensive HOTAs. he likes it alot over trying to fly with a Xbox 360 controller.
  6. naw, i love the oceans.. .. its amazing how a new terrain engine brigns this game up like 10 levels. Wonder who's doing the SimHQ Review.... didnt they all work before?
  7. JOYGASM what I wanna know, is if the AI Parked planes are added in 3DS max, or added in the INI, guess i got some INI Digging to do soon, and then finish the new CVN Model.

Fraps doenst really touch the CPU, Fraps saturates the HDD bandwidth though w/ writing a video file in uncompressed format (well the video file has a FRAPs Codec signature in it), a 1280x720 AVI already well into taking up a big chunk of the available bandwidth. and i know almost everybody games at resolutions higher than that. the only thing that saves the bandwidth is dropping the FrPS from 60 to say 30.
  10. Source Which Means the Terrain is prolly Done in MAX too. One less tool to deal with and code, just use max for everything.

  12. i meant Hawaii and japan maps with the new Terrain Engine, since its mostly water around them (if you set them up right), we can go ballistic with Terrain Details and objects the same way T10 did with Iceland. also, i do believe TK said somewhere that TODs are gone, everything is LOD now (in one of his "we got so much to do and so little time/money speeches, he mentioned re-doing all the TODs into LODs.)

  18. i wonder if the rex is exclusive to iceland or we can make new terrains at that res.... like hawaii or japan, that way we can still have alot of water..
