Well, good things come to those that wait (as always)! It will give me some time to work on the MiG-25 and Mirage F.1. It is too bad, I had hoped for an early public release but oh well.

Ah, yes, so I've noticed Martin. A classic case of "ignorance is bliss", I never noticed that they were wrong before but now that I know, it bugs the crap out of me How close is the Su-20A and Su-22? Cause those are the ones I need for the first release, and yours looked pretty far along? I just started flying the campaign for Iraq using the campaign customizer, flying the Su-22M (yes, the incorrect one) and it is quite hairy. Luckily it can take a beating and get back to base, but it is not exactly a rocket sled or a dogfighter. Also, me + unguided munitions = a lot of misses. But good fun, the campaign even threw me a CAP mission over Bagdahd. First noticed two RF-4Es low over the desert directly after takeoff, so I get on their sixes and fire both my Atolls and some guns. Two kills, just like that. Well, once over Bagdahd their big brother F-4Es come calling and after somehow gunning down one (man, the NR-30 is not fast enough for a-a gunnery) I dive for the deck and head south, hoping the SAMs will take care of them. After shooting flying telephone poles for a solid five minutes they score their first kill.

The Aerofax Sukhoi Su-25 book states that in 1979 the factory was able to finish two aircraft for acceptance trials (which apparently also included real combat in Afghanistan in march 1980). The production numbers are stated as follows: 1978: 2 1979: 4 1980: 10 1981: 13 1982: 30 1983: 55 1984: 62 and so on and so on.. so one unit in 1979? Plausible

Florian that will be a great addition, especially later during the Tanker Wars when there was more naval action. The P-3 was one of those aircraft I never thought I'd get for this mod, this community never stops to impress

Thx Morteza! If anyone got any ebooks to share on the F.1, PM me. Here is something of a blast from the past, way back when I got into SF2 first I did a small mod to redo the menus but ultimately never released any of it since there were a lot of other menu mods coming out at the time, but decided to dust off the files for this mod, since I really cant stand the stock menus on widescreen monitors. Sweetfx makes the pic a bit washed out but anyways..

Mirage F-1C-200
Centurion-1 replied to ludo.m54's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
This project is alive and kicking, and I am working on the cockpit to finish it up after a long pause. Currently got lights working properly, now I just need to make a control column, new throttle, work on the canopy framing and touch up remaining instruments. I am also working on the Iraqi EQ variants currently. Now I need your help to find some plausible radio freqs to fill into the table shown below: -
Thank you Morteza, those will come in handy once it is time for the Ah-1, mostly now focused on the Mirage F.1 and map tiles. If anybody has any good loadout refs for the Mirage F.1EQ and/or detailed version info on the different EQ variants, that would be welcome!

Hmm Wrench I hope my desert tiles are not too bright then, I used JSF Aggies tiles but lightened them up a bit since I always thought they were a tad dark and red-ish. With the current terrain system I think photorealism is not realistically achievable for such a large region, but as long as it does not look bad or completely unbelievable that is enough for me. I am nearing the end of tile work, only a couple of transition tiles left. Some of the road and river tiles are admittedly rather "quick n' dirty" right now, they could use more careful painting. I really think the new tiles makes the terrain more vibrant, esp. complete with TOD files. I have also been having doubts whether Israel farm tiles are too green right now...
-
I can second that, as I have been working a lot using this terrain and it is real good. I guess I never saw how good it was before since I was so bugged by those old tiles. Now with some new/adapted tiles it feels interesting to fly over again. Because let's face it, Stary, Wrench and other terrain modders have set the bar high with releases like IndoPak, the new Germany terrain, the Sweden terrain, Formosa, Korea... With all the great community support for this project I feel very assured it's gonna turn out great!

Strike Fighters 2 Screenshots
Centurion-1 replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Screen Shots
Sometimes, this game can look genuinely pretty darn good! MiG-23BN by Paulo. The Campaign ai decided to go heavy -
Iran for now, but will probably make "mirror" campaigns that let you fly for Iraq. But many of the IrAf aircraft lack proper avionics and cockpits, so that is a problem. Therefore if Stary says he will make cockpits for some of the birds the importance of that can not be understated! Enoc that Su-20 is looking better and better, cant wait to try it Paulo yes please anything relating to Iraf is welcome, those planes will add a nice ambience!
