  1. This certainly sends a clear messge about how DCS feels about mods in general. A shame really, but their loss in the long run. No way will ED and the select few third party devs keep up with demand. The only positive I can see out of this is that since classified modern jets are highly unlikely to be modelled, we will get more cold war stuff. I have more or less given up on DCS as it is now, when and if DCS 2.0 comes out and I can get my hand on the Oculus RIft CV I will give it a go. Before that, I got better things to do.
  2. The 94-95 timeframe sounds like a good idea, when DPRK had MiG-29s and Su-25s (IIRC). Once the base scenario works well I can just change units, but it depends on finding good ORBATs. The RAAF is already in with said assets. They appear a week or so in, with a token Hornet and F-111 sqn. Also Indeonesia, another regional ally. The RAAF birds are not set as playable though, easy fix if you know how or have the campaign customizer DLC. Has anyone tried the campaign, does it work for you?
  3. Nice, sounds like good times. Think I'm gonna need to get one of those in the fall, or a 980, because of the Oculus Rift system reqs and my video card is not up to snuff. I am going to do it right, to hell with cost. Anyways, summer is great and if you live somewhere where it's short and sweet like here, do get the most out of it!
  4. Wonder if the original designers could ever foresee that this plane would serve into 2025.. Back then planes struggled to get 20 years of service due to the quick technical progress :)
  5. And a Hamina class? Excellent indeed! Thanks, yeah it's coming along.
  6. Soon ™ and Two weeks ™ Seriously the CZ/AZ are making really good progress, so It won't be too long.
  7. The last Mirage F.1AZ are not delivered, and instead join the French air force to counter the growing soviet threat.
  8. That's one of the nicest cockpits I've seen so far for SF2, and a much needed one. I counter with a french striker cockpit!
  9. Holy Mirage Saver, Batman! Seriously, I love you for doing those since otherwise, I would have had to do part of those as part of the F.1 work.
  10. If I understand it correctly, I believe Saavedra proposes creating a helicopter mission with the target area to be the area the pilot went down. Maybe use recon mission type so you get mission success when flying over the downed pilot. If you hit the save mission button you can edit it with the mission editor IIRC? So just offset the mission start time, etc, maybe move in some ground unit to capture our unfortunate pilot in order to make it "interesting". Hehe it would be cool if we had a "downed pilot" ground object, armed with just a carbine or pistol Infiltrating the DDR in a Huey might be a dicey proposition though :)
  11. I would second that.. for now. When and if SF2 "officially" becomes abandonware I think we could rethink that policy, especially regarding stock aircraft. Some of the AI-onlies could use a fair bit of mesh smoothing, as well as cockpit tweaks etc. Could make a really great "Community Update Pack".
  12. Haha you got that right. And your mesh really does give the airframe justice. I think I will have to redraw the F-5E templates in 4096x4096 now
  13. What are your PC specs Stratos? theres quite a lot going on so I have gotten CtDs on my laptop. As for the tileset, try downloading Starys Korea 3 tileset. Check campaign data ini and see that you have all groundobjects and ships installed.
  14. I have created some ground war node networks, so I can help with that but the targeting needs to be quite complete first. It's a couple of hours work depending on complexity, 60+ nodes for Korea 3 for example took 3-4hrs. The project looks really promising! Will it be possible to re-use some of the work that went into Rends germanyCe upgrade in this?
  15. If we only could have tile specific parallax or bump mapping, then the old engine could look 10x better by adding fake depth info. And stratos, sorry about the huge delay RL has been a PITA. WOrking that Dragonfly now, you will have something nice in your PM soon :)
  16. Anyone else here took the plunge on GTAV? I feel like a sucker for buing a AAA game (almost) on release day, but I love open world sandbox/ life simulator type things and it proved too hard to resist. My nick FinCenturion101, feel free to add me. The MP seems cool.
  17. My car, as opposed to ours or rather my wifes car, 1996 BMW 740i Edit: had to add a better photo from last year, different rims but...
  18. Ok try to put these into your Korea 3 folder and see if it helps, I must have modified these slightly and forgot about it. Other than that dunno what could be wrong. Korea3_mods.7z
  19. Awesome to see you back! That model, it's just specatcular
  20. I've been meaning to do one of these a number of times now but I always die embarrasingly soon into a campaign. Oh well. Need to consider some other campaign perhaps.
  21. Hehe the reason I asked for DPRK vessels was that I wanted to add them to my Korea 85 camp, check it out here http://combatace.com/topic/85880-korea-85-wip-including-new-ground-war/
  22. Roger that. If anyone has tried the campaign I would like to hear some feedback Some stuff that comes to mind Some of the airbases seem kind of small for a 1985 time period? Maybe Wrench can comment on that. If you have SA-8s that are set as Mobile_AAA they will infest the theater and create heavy losses for Blue air, so I found it best to remove those. NK didn't operate the SA-8 anyways. Some air units like the A-10s never seem to do missions. I might add more friendly nation units, thinking of A-4s of RNZAF and F-8s of Phillipine AF. The russian naval forces should probably be stronger, or perhaps a new battlegroup with the Kiev and/or Kirov appearing after the inevitable sinking of the first soviet surface group?
