I don't think button-assigments would conflict with each other, you'd just get the button click doing two things simultaneously. I had all sorts of aggro with my assigments, so I deleted every single one of them in the game and added back only those that I use (precious few). :yes:

It's the "rear gun" setting I believe. Setting it to "hard" makes it hard for you, as a rear-gunner, to hit your target. It also makes it so for the AI.

Do you have gunners on "Hard" in Workshop? That'll make them more realistic.

I'm running my 30" at that res off a GTX8800, max FSAA and AF and getting very good frames (sliders on 54451).

I did exactly that. Just got done with a two-hour+ flight, taking in the sights. I did London, then down to the south coast and took in Beachy Head (where's the bloody chalk?), Eastbourne (where's the bloody pier?), Bexhill, Hastings (another robbed pier. Oi!) and the white cliffs of Dover (did they steal the chalk from Beachy Head?). Luvvly jubbly!

Sod it, had enough of that, deleted the lot. I'm going RFC again, think I'll start a 1917 chap, had enough of shonky planes too. So, Camel or Se5...? Home defence Sq I think, so I can build up some realistic hours without kills... :yes:

I've compared multiple dossiers to try and make sense of the entries, tried transfering Rutger back to the original Jasta, to see if that would fix everything by over-writing a file somewhere, all no joy.

As long as the a/c are reasonably close to RL AND consistent amongst each other within their own alternate-reality world, personally I'm content. The fact we can't physically feel them while flying pretty much makes 100% FM accuracy a moot point in my opinion.

Funny you should mention that. I have over nine real-time hours on this pilot, which is why I'm loathe to lose him in such a way. So I'm thinking of deploying some of your voodoo magic and resurrecting an old zero-kill pilot who has the hours. But it won't feel the same. Why the hell I didn't back-up the file before messing with it I don't know. Too many hours working on other peoples' PCs and servers I think, it's scrambled my common sense.

I'm trying to work out what each line in the Dossier represents, and it's a bit like trying to de-code something typed on an Enigma. I'm using a test-file to make changes and see what changes in-game. Some make no change to the in-game log at all, which leads me to think that some of the values are cross-referenced with other files. I've been unable so far (for example) to find the line that dictates hours flown (thinking I might make a completely new pilot and modify his file to reflect the old one). There's a default pilot file, which looks like it has all the values for a stock CFS3 pilot, but they're jumbled up in a different order to the OFF file. The hours flown are shown as seperate lines for hours and minutes, but I can find no correlation in the OFF file. I'm able to make the error message change in terms of it's numbers, but not in any way that makes sense. It's starting to look like Rutger is about to go down with a terminal case of shell-shock induced lunacy.

I already tried reducing the number of pilots, but my pilot then failed to load at all. None of the aces are listed in the Dossier.

I did a pilot transfer, following other chaps' procedures, but I've busted something, so any help from a dev would be appreciated (but if ignored understandable). I stupidly forgot to back-up the original file before modifying it. I deleted all the old chaps in my flight and pasted in the new ones from the new Jasta. I now get this error message when firing up the campaign (can still fly, still get wingmen, but in the briefing there is nada for me or them): DutyRosterErrors: GNumAcesOnDuty 3 OnDutyCheck:4 C=3

Wild stab in the dark here, but are you sure you're in the 'Virtual Cockpit'? On the assumption that there's a non-virtual cockpit (I don't know if there is or not, but other sims have had both).
