  1. I am currently working on a 1918 version, but as there is no referance material on this aircraft in 1918, it will be purely guess work. Jasta 77b skin with 'Moritz' added.
  2. These are the skins that I currently use for my Kraut and Crumpets pilot Aircraft - Albatros DIII early The excellent Jasta 6 skin by Olham
  3. Thank you for your kind comments. I will start on a 1918 version as my next project. Regards
  4. I look forward to flying her - great skin
  5. Work in porcess Albatros DVa Jasta 77b 1917 - Unknown pilot Based on Albatros D5385/17. Original aircraft had a much more simplified version of 'Moritz' - a popular cartoon character from the 'Max und Moritz' comic strip by Wilhelm Busch (many say is one of the fathers of the comic strip).
  6. I sometimes find that if to cut away the surrounding area of the part I wish to cut and paste - this gives cleaner lines. Keep at it and don't loose heart - my first couple of skins were dreadful. I started with skinning the Albatros DII as I found these are the simplist to skin. I have started to skin Albatros DIIII/DV and Fok DR1, which have to be skinned in a diffent way and are also casuing my problems! Regards
  7. RAF sorry to read about your HD problem. I would be happy to send a copy of my images that I use for skinning - if you think they will be of help. Just give me your address and I will send a disc. Regards Beanie
  8. I use Paint.net - its free! although Pro Paint Shop is the way to go. I started with very basic designs using Albatros DII. Although there is a lot to learn, as you are already aware the forum is a great place to get help. Oldham, Widowmaker, RAF and OvS have all given sound advice - although I still have a lot to learn. Over time you will find yourself getting better. And it is a great feeling flying in a aircraft that you have skinned. Also with 4,000 skins to choose from in game, and a great collection of downloadable skins, they are a great source of ideas. Try simple cut and paste skins - your be surprised by the results, but above all else, enjoy yourself - I find it great fun. Regards
  9. Excellent Widowmaker. Your style of skinning has greatly improved, far beyond my own standard. I look forward to your future projects.
  10. When I started out on two-seaters I did'nt think I would enjoy it - but to get to the sortie area in one piece, completed the task and hopfully get you and your flight back is so very satisfying (although I'am not even close to the 17 hours mark yet!) Having the option would add even more immersion to an already well contructed campaign - thank you for making it so enjoyable. If anyone is thinking of joining - give it a go it is a real hoot!!!
  11. Nice one Creaghorn - Thank you for sharing them with us.
  12. Flying DiD may be frustrating at times, but look at the sense of achievement and satisfaction you get when it goes right. I started flying DiD almost from the start, and there is not one flight that I have not felt that I have not been tested - even on routine patrols behing own lines - goes to show the depth of detail of this sim! But regardless of the level that people play OFF - enjoying yourself in the main aim, and with the add-on being released shortly - there will have even more frustrating times ahead - GREAT!
  13. Thank you for showing us these - glad to see Jasta 17. Will there be any new Jasta 5 skins? - Pleassee!! The work, attention to detail and depth of research involved in this sim is just outstanding!
  14. Beautiful A big thank you to all the devs for the support and time they give. Like many - I am looking forward to the release of the add-on.
  15. I did'nt say I agreed with the war in Afghgan - far from it, but that is another story! Having had friends injured and killed in both Iraq and Afghan - one from Shefiield, and the picture not only showing this idiot urinating on the war memorial, but also on poppy wrealths - I stand by what I previously said. He would see first hand the full horrors of war and would realise the full meaning of the memorial!
  16. Ernst Kessler aircraft from The Great Waldo Pepper OFF skin produced by FRO8769 - OFF Skins download section Page 17.
  17. Simple 'copy n paste's - if I can do it anyone can! Base skins Jasta 2 and Jasta 5 - Thuringia shield. Albatros DII markings at the time were very basic so makes skinning easy
  18. Send him to Afgan as a stretcher bearer, I bet he would'nt do it again!

  21. Quote by Widowmaker I hate Steam with a vengeance!!!...I wish it nothing but financial disaster and a slow, painful death! (another reason for not touching RoF for me..is this online connected to foreign, unknown Spyware servers!...Repugnant to me..and the real reason i dont play empire any longer. Agreed - I have Total War series up to Empire - but having to be connected to a foreign server, and not having the option of whether you wish to patch, and having problems with Steam the first time I set up an account, means that I will never purchase any games that require Steam!
  22. Hi

Hope you and your family are well. I uploaded the Aussie pup some months ago, although I hope to have a couple of Fokker DVII finished soon. Loved your sons 'report from the front' clearly he has a gift.

Although work has limited the time that I am able to skin, fly or spend time on the forum, I do visit when I am able.

    Best Regards

    Beanie

  23. As always Rickitycrate - well said!
