  1. F-4S for SF2..... I updated the FM, avionics, SF2 F-4J pit, and used Sundowner's template to update his original skin to 2048x2048.
  2. Done. I can look at it late tonight.
  3. Two guesses... Does the AFX's _data.ini have "MinBaseSize=LARGE"? If so, change it to MEDIUM. The only runway is Runway6, of TargetType=MEDIUM_RUNWAY. Are you trying to fly later than 2010? Range.INI has an EndDate of 1/1/2010. If neither of those fix it, I'll install it and see if I can find the problem.
  4. Those lines did start showing up after I added the _hm.bmp's to most of the tiles. It's not a line between tiles that have and tiles that do not have _hm.bmp's though. For that terrain, all tiles have them accept the specialty tiles around the airbase and the range. I assumed that the effect of the _hm.bmp's is only drawn so far out, and what you're seeing is the "seem" between where it is, and were it is not used to draw the terrain. You can get rid of it by removing all the "HeightMap=range*_hm.BMP" lines from the range_data.ini file. This will give you the mostly flat terrain. You could also try decreasing the "HeightMapScale" value. It will make the terrain features smaller, but maybe there's a good compromise.
  5. In Range.INI, there is the following: [AllowedDates] StartDate=1/1/1950 EndDate=1/1/2010 I just flew six missions with F-100's, A-4's, and F-8's, all in the '50's, with no problems. However, I have it in a merged install will all titles.
  6. I've updated the download to remove the SAMRadars, or you can just grab the Range_targets.ini from this post, and place it in your /Terrains/Range folder. EricJ, I'm not forcing this on you or anyone. Range_targets.rar
  7. Man, I thought this post was going to be about the University of Texas. :)
  8. Helmut, I think that is just the way it is. It doesn't have anything to do with adding the highway airstrip. Distant .tga's are rendered on top of near .tga's, you just don't see it at 20k feet. Stary may know if there's a way to get them to render in the correct order.
  9. Kev, I added 3 SAMRadar's to parts of the range, but they never showed up for me. The hope was just to get a few more spikes on the RWR. I didn't add any SAMLauncher's, but I also didn't look to see if they were some already existing. I don't have any 3rd party SAMs in my install. Maybe some of the mobile guys are "SAMRadar's" with missiles? If anyone else is seeing this, they can open up the range_targets.ini and change all the SAMLauncher's and/or SAMRadar's to another type. The desert, mountain, and farm tiles have _hm.bmp's now. All of the range specific tiles are still flat, so there should still be pleanty of flat ground to add your additional targets, we just may have to move their locations (or get rid of the _hm.bmp's in range_data.ini)
  10. View File SF2 Series Range ******************************************************************************* ********* Bombing Range For SF2 ******** ******************************************************************************* This is an update to the original bombing range to make it compatible with the SF2 series, and take advantage of some of the new features now available. It also has terrain tiles redrawn at 1024x1024. A QF-100D drone is included in this download. You'll see these flying around the range, and parked at the simulated airfield. All weapons have been removed, so they won't shoot at you. Only hostile aircraft with a "NationName=RANGE" will show up on this terrain. A modified version of the NATIONS.INI file has been included. It is the stock file with the "RANGE" nation added. You need the "RANGE" nation defined if you want the QF-100D's showing up. Provided your other terrains have their "LimitedNations" setup, you won't see the QF-100's anywhere except the Range. A quick note, for the most part, this is still the original target layout. Wrench and others have created target laydowns with a much wider array of targets. These changes can be easily merged with this update. Feel free to further modify this, but don't sell it, and please include the credit list below. ******************************************************************************* ********* Installation ******** ******************************************************************************* Copy the contents SF2_Range.rar into your SF2 mods folder. 12. Same in ODS: [CockpitSeat001] ModelName=F-15CPit Offset=0.0,0.0,0.040 Position=0.0,4.35,1.55
  13. If not those, what about the F-15C in Desert Storm?
  14. File: F-15 C and D Release.7z The README has a date of 21 Sep 09: [CockpitSeat001] ModelName=F-15CPit Offset=0.0,0.0,0.040 Position=0.0,4.35,1.55 ViewAngles=0.0,0.0,0.0 MaxYaw=160 MinYaw=-160 MaxPitch=90 Is that what you're looking for?
  15. Also, in each aircraft's _data.ini, there's a variable: MinBaseSize=. Only aircraft with MinBaseSize=SMALL should ever be put on a highway airfield, unless that stoped working just recently. But again, make sure you're using the files in the link above. It just contains the objects, an airbase.ini, and a modified GermanyCE_targets.ini and GermanyCE_types.ini
  16. I think the very first one I did for WOE had some trees. I think just a new .tga only. Go with this one, for WOE2, no trees or terrain _data.ini in here: http://combatace.com/files/file/10311-highway-airfield-mod-for-sf2-europe/
  17. Going to try and get this posted tomorrow. Short runway for STOVL practice....
  18. Happy Birthday
  19. Logitech released software & firmware updates on 05-18, to among other things, fix the sloppiness. Personally, I don't like the changes in the force curves when playing StrikeFighters. Once you update the firmware, there's not going back to the previous firmware and software. Others, playing other sims, have been happy with the changes. http://forums.logitech.com/t5/PC-Gaming/Logitech-G940-Software-Update-Official-notice/td-p/447921
  20. Humbley request more cockpit shots.
  21. I got it working. If I define a new "RANGE" nation in the terrain's _nations.ini, like Dhimar and Paran are defined in the stock desert terrain, it doesn't seem to work for limiting only the "RANGE" nation to the bombing range terrain. I had to define it in the global NATIONS.INI file to get it to work. I would have perfered not to have to touch this file, but at least we get parked aircraft, and only un-armed "drones" will show up flying around the range. I plan to include three drones in the update, QF-100, QF-106, QF-4. I have to finish the skin of course....
  22. I have one I can send you this weekend. Send me a PM if I forget.
  23. That was going to be the last thing I try. I was going to make them a seperate aircraft, with no weapons, and RECON as their only role. This will get them parked on the airfield. They'll also be a few flying around, but I don't think it's a bad thing. There shouldn't me more than one flight of two, and they won't be shooting at anyone. This way we'll have a believeable target flying around if we want to do some A2A. I can make a new "nation" for the range and that will keep them from showing up on other terrains, at least those that are limited to specfic nations. I'll make their availability "RARE", which will also help. I'll try it tonight.
  24. I'm making a small dirt runway for the for STOVL aircraft that I'm going to place next to the main runway. I'll see if I can get this to fit with the larger runway4. No luck with the sim's static aircraft. If I do enough to get them to appear on the range's runway, you end up with MiG's spawning in the air, even if the airfield's data.ini doesn't have takeoff or touchdown points. I think I'm going to have to keep the old aircraft targets since there's not a static RED aircraft model we can use for a parked aircraft. Here's some updated shots....
