Negative bro. There shouldn't be a difference between how things operate in the civilian world and the military world. Unfortunately, there is that difference and that's why there is so much lack of discipline and integrity in the civilian world (not saying all civilians are like that). This is why corruption in the work place is such an out of control issue. People are literally left off the hook for their mistakes. Eyes look the other way when someone does something wrong. This develops the mindset that anybody can get away with anything without a concern of consequences for one's actions. This is the main reason why I will never go back to a civilian job because people have to be treated with a disgusting amount of softness that I can not stand. I did not see Christian Bale as a big baby in this, but as someone who expects and demands the highest discipline and professionalism from someone who is in a position to have those qualities. He is, in military terms, "hardcore" in what he does and expect others to be at that level. Why? Because he demads excellence, discipline, and integrity in the work field, and there is nothing wrong with that at all. Guranteed, that director will probably never make that mistake again, at least while working with Christian Bale.

Cyber "Warriors"
serverandenforcer replied to Jeremiah Weed's topic in Military and General Aviation
Neither would I. I've been in guard towers where snipers have taken pot shots at me, have had rockets and motars land too close for comfort, and I would never dare call myself a warrior and never would want anybody else to call me that. A real warrior is someone who goes out past the wire, going face to face with death every day and continues to do that job with dedication and without hesitation, no matter how often they've come close to being killed. AFAIK, only the Army and the Marines do that on a daily basis. They (Air Force Security Forces) keep "training" us to do those roles, but every time we're deployed, it's always the guard towers inside the wire. The day that I actually do a real building search, where live rounds are being popped off over my head by the bad guys, and having to pound rounds back to save my arse in CQC, I might be a bit more willing to except that title of warrior. But until that day happens, save that title for those who really deserve it. -
I'm trying to figure out if I should setup animations on the main rotor blades on a model that I'm working on. What I'm aiming for is that as you increase colletive (power), the rotor blades roll on their centerline axis and because of that they also pitch up a little bit simulating lift due to that increase. Do I need to model in roll and pitch animations in 3D studio max, or is that an animation that will be handled in the data.ini file for the aircraft? I got the pivot axis for each blade setup to where the blades are able to roll and pitch in relation to where it is connected to the rotor mast.

Just to let our female members here know, this is not attractive. Attractive is what you already are from birth. Not this. Be proud of who you are. I really can't understand why women want to do this to themselves. I think they just end up meeting the wrong kind of guys who want these things. If you do meet a guy who wants something that's not natural from you, then he's a freaken loser and you deserve someone much better than him. This is just sad.

Nic and Vanessa, you two have nothing to worry about. I myself need to focus on gaining weight. Currently at 155 lbs, 5'10", 8% body fat. Need to start downing those protein shakes. I did do a 2 mile run today though in about 15 minutes.

Me????? never.

That could be true. I did get her number. That might of been an indicator of being under the influence.

loading.wav
serverandenforcer replied to savagkc's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
What!? You deleted the Danger Zone one from Top Gun that I sent you a while ago? That was a classic loadingscreen.wav. Even HornetFixr loved it -
You know what I mean. geez..... Anyways, all I'm trying to say is to give someone a chance. If they act like that with you, right off the bat, when you didn't do anything at all, then I can understand judging the fool. But until you actually meet them, I would hold my breath. Perfect example. I thought Tara Reid was a straight up b@$&! One day I had to meet her person to person because valet backed up her porsche into a concrete pillar and I had to respond and take the report for it. I thought she would be ballistic and make a scene. Instead, she very nice, very polite, and very respectful. She even took the time to talk to me a bit more on things not related to the accident, and she did this right after having her wisdom teeth being pulled. She is no longer a b@$&! in my book, but a very cool chick (although has made some really bad life styfle mistakes).

Yeah, but if you got someone who is doing blatantly stupid things left and right and appears to have a lack of common sense, costing time and money to some real good work being done, who is to say how each of us will react. Some people take it very personal with the amount of time and devotion that they put into a project. Perhaps there have been more than just two incidents with this director, and all this time Bale has been trying to be patient with him, until now, and he wanted to send a message that would get this guy to start using common sense. Even here at CA, I've seen venting from other modders regarding how other members have been acting (albeit, they're venting to other modders about what had happened and not to the person who is at fault), and this is only on stuff over the net. Just imagine how some of us would respond if these issues were occuring on a more personal and intimate level. To some actors, acting is a very personal business and messing around with what they are doing at their best is just a big no no. For some of us, it's hard to understand. For me, the film industry is something I can understand a bit easier from my experience in dealing with actors, and because my grandpa was an actor on various Films and T.V. shows, including Hill Street Blues. There are things that you just don't do on a set. Walking around, causing a major distraction to an actor who is focused on trying to get a difficult part down is one of those things. Doing it once, o.k., they can let that slide. Doing it a whole bunch of times, the guy needs to get a talking to. If being spoken to about once, on a civilized level doesn't seem to do the trick, then you say it in a way that sends the message home permanently. Ask Dave about this with his experience in being a MTL on how such a situation would be handled. I know that MTLs have had to set the message to me on a more heated level because I just couldn't learn the first time around. Of course, MTLs have a higher level of integrity to follow by because they are to set an example of the core values, so some things to be said to the troop might be withheld. Bale is not an MTL, and I can't hold him to those standards.

LOL!!!! oh come on C5. Be nice now. After doing some escort services for some actors, I've come to know the one thing that they really hate doing is to re-do a difficult scene that they almost had gotten done perfectly but one minor/major issue that could have easily been avoided ruined it all. There might not be any immediately legitimate excuse for his behavior, but we never know what else is really going on. After my ignorant posts that I had made a while back (which was actually venting in frustration to something totally different from what the post was about), I can't really judge people on something like this anymore. Maybe there's something going on in his life on a personal level that really is affecting him, but he's keeping it bottled up to himself. You just never know.

Ah, ok then. Well that might actually answer a lot more about Bale's character.

Enemy Skill Level

Everything on hard, normal on blackouts. And I never use the map to find where a bandit is at. I use Red Crown, the radar, and my eyes. -
Considering the history of Christian Bale, I'm not surprised at all. This is mild compared to some of the things that he has done in the past. Wasn't he arrested in England for battery a while ago?

Here's a list of 3D programs 1.) the obvious 3D Studio Max (what I use - highly expensive, and a bit buggy) 2.) Lightwave 3.) Maya (a lot of game developers use this program) 4.) Blender (free) 5.) Milkshape (free - but adds a horrible amount of unnecessary polys into the mesh builiding) 6.) GMax (free - but there's that conversion issue) There's also CAD, but I don't know how good of a 3d modeling program it is.

Call the Ball
serverandenforcer replied to gbnavy61's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Well, considering that carriers can only be used in scripted missions, perhaps multiple versions of the same carriers are to be made, each with a specific ball setup up for whatever aircraft is scripted for the mission. -

I was going to a variety of places for the SF series, starting at Mc FLy's, then to Skunkworks, and once that disappeared, I only knew of Mc Fly's site and the links there to other various sites. I think I might have stumbled on in here from one of those links while looking for mods for SFP1, WOV, and WOE and said to myself, "Hey, this place is pretty cool." CA is now the first place I go to when I go online. It's a great site with great people who can tolerate me even after I act like a douche bag on a few occasions... at least I think they still tolerate me.
