  1. I'm a fan of both Star Wars and Star Trek. Star Wars doesn't have a tremendous amounts of techno bable that Star Trek has. However, a lot of todays technology is very similar to that of old and some of new trek. For instance: cell phones, microwaves, we do have a form of a working "tricorder", web cams, transparent aluminum (yes we do have it - but it's freaken expensive), and I believe we are also researching and experimenting with teleportation (on a very small level - read about it in a Popular Science magazine). S:A&B was awesome and I have no idea why it didn't last long at all. New BSG is interesting, it's kind of like a Sci-Fi soap opera, but with better acting. Star Gate was cool, up until that got rid of the main character, Richard Dean Anderson. Babylon 5 was o.k. Wasn't really into it that much.
  2. The serail code is always on the tail. It has to be. You need to know what aircraft is parked on the flight line. I've never come across one that doesn't have a serial code. Now, not all aircraft have a squadron Number on the tail. Our birds at March (mainly KC-135 and C-17) have the march banner on the top of the tail and the AMC badge, but that's about it. But I think all fighters do have a squadron ID. Some may not be as flashy as others. It also depends if they're in a deployed area. In deployed areas, they're usualy subdued. Back at home base though, where they're stationed from, they're usually in their full colors.
  3. The newer viper actually does have the serial number on the tail. It's just really small. You'll find it next to the S on the right. From my experience on having to fill out plot sheets (where you have to drive around the flight line and take down tail codes) I've come to find out that there is no regulation on the size of the tail code numbers.
  4. Did someone say lazer puma? Out on eel patrol. Scaning....
  5. Just did a quick single mission in the A-4E Super Echo on the new SoCal terrain. Enemy contact was unknown. Default flight roster was only two scooters and armament was 2 AIM-9Ms and guns. Took off from Marimar, got up to waypoint 3 and picked up the enemy flight. Targeted and I.D. them and it turned up to be 4 Mig-29As! Thought I was outnumbered and outgunned for being in a A-4, but figure since it's not real, why not give it a shot. They fired first, at my wingie and I then told him to break off and engage. Got into a good furball close to the deck that lasted for about 5 to 10 minutes. Through out this, I'm able to catch my wingie on several occasions being chased around and shot at by 2 Fulcrums while I'm chaseing after another one while having a 2nd on my rear. I was finally able to take out two Fulcrums with my sidewinders. My wingie was able to takeout one with guns, but then crashed shortly after. I turned back around and found the last Mig-29 making a run back for home. I pursued and caught up with him over his home airfield and then got into another dogfight with him. I was able to get myelf into a postion where I'm coming up behind and above him with about a mile between us. He's turns, trying to jink back into me. I bank with him and pull up hard as he starts to pass by my nose and let off 30 rounds from the guns, hitting him with only 3 which cause an instant Kaboom! I then unload, hit the deck, and make a run back to base.
  6. Wow, I only live about 30 miles from Santa Monica Airport. Such sad news. Rest in peace.
  7. ...I enlisted into the United States Air Force and began an interesting and rewarding journey serving my country which included a tour in Iraq from Sep '06 to Mar '07. Hoping on another 26 years of service. Just wanted to throw that out. I know it's nothing compared to how long all the other military members here have served.
  8. I like to know how to get it to shake even more. I never noticed the shaking at all.

  10. Negative miss. That was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid. The person below me once ate fried eels at a sushi buffett restaurant.
  11. Last December I made a stupid comment like that of Stiglr's and I'm really ashamed of it. When I made that post, I started going into some tough times with my dad getting laid off, my orders to work several months getting cut early, my Uncle Don Thomas (retired Air Force Major) dieing from cancer, and facing no work for myself for a longer time period than what I'm comfortable with. I guess I took my frustrations out in the wrong way that anyone can and ended up hurting a lot of people with a stupid post. I know I started a topic about that comment, but the post I made in that was complete piss. So after reading this topic for the first time, it really put things into perspective for me. For anybody who is new to the Thirdwire series and want to know what the whole deal is, it's this. SF/WO* is a sim that gives you a quality of game play that is above Ace Combat. However, you don't get lost in the technical operations of flying an aircraft as you would might find in some other sims. That being said, SF/WO* series is the perfect balance for those who want a flight sim that's fun, but not too complicated to get into. I play this sim almost non stop because of that balance.
  12. Mirage Factory F-8J. Takes a hit on resources but sure is good look'n. Got my first A2A kill in it last night. Do you know how hard it is to spot a Mig-17 with all that canopy frame work blocking your view?

This mod upgrades the HUD and radar for the A-4 variants to operate with Avionics70.dll. In this pack, you will find 5 folders of A-4 variants. Each variants' avionics suite is unique to each other. The avionics suite is upgraded appropriately for each variant. ...................................................................... A-4B: No radar; simple HUD displaying heading, speed, altitude, attitude, waterline, and flightpath. A-4C: AG radar; HUD updates include the additions of Waypoint data and AG targeting data (depending on munitions). A-4E: Same as the A-4C; HUD updates include the additions of flight performance data. A-4F: Same as the A-4E; HUD updates include the additions of a CCIP A-4ese (Super Echo): AA and AG radar; HUD updates include AA targeting data. ...................................................................... INSTALLATION: back-up you original files, then copy and paste each A-4 folder into your aricraft folder. These aricrafts will require the stock A-4B,C,E,and F lods from Wings Over Europe and Wings Over Vietnam. In the A-4.ini file, it will advise of which lod file you will need. The A-4_Cockpit.ini will advise of which cockpit.lod you will need. NOTE: these avionics suites may and are most likely not true to the real A-4s. Since I couldn't find anyreference pictures of them, I implemented what I would think would be somewhat believable. I just didn't think that it would only be a yellow guncross. If you happen to know exactly what the HUD would look like on a real A-4, you are more than welcomed to make the changes and distribute the mod. This mod will work in SFP1, WOV, WOE, and WOI. ...................................................................... This mod made by me, serverandenforcer

  17. I can see my house from there. Great work bro! Oh, and you should also make the new recent look for the San Gabriels in the Valley.... burned and dusty.
  18. Embry is probably one of the best to go to. Actually, if you talk to a recruiter, they can point you to some good colleges that focuses on those issues. Or, you can do it through the military, knock out the pre-requisites through CLEPS (sp?) and then go to ROTC using your G.I. bill and get your degree. That's what I'm going to do once I get my AGR finalized.
  19. But atleast I wasn't going "WTF!?!?!?!?!?!?" throughout the movie.
  20. Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within
  21. Well, I never played the game, so when I saw the movie, I was saying, "WTF!?!?!?!?!?" from begining to end. Too me, everything seemed wayyyyy too exagerated, and yes, the male characters on both sides seemed very fem. I liked the first one much better.
