SA-43 Hammerhead

Does anybody remember this lady? It's kind of my take on a more modernized version of the SA-43 Hammerhead fighter from Space: Above and Beyond. I tried to turn it into a serious marine mud mover with a stowable gun. Anybody interested in taking a crack at getting her into SF2? I simply don't have the time. Completely UV'd, not rigged. And no cockpit or pilot to speak of. But I'd love to be able to take her for a spin. format is Modo, but I can export to OBJ if necessary. Cheers guys, and keep up the great work around here! :) -Klavs SA-43 Hammerhead.zip

Okay, I sprung for this ($$$!) from Turbosquid, spent a while dumbing down the mesh, and getting it to F-35 A standards, it's still ridiculously high poly, added some wheels, cutouts for weapons bays, landing gear, etc. I've also added geometry along all the panel lines so specular will follow the geometry of the lines. It really is quite beautiful. I must be clear that I have absolutely ZERO time to work on this, but I'd love to fork it over to one of the former F-35 team and let them blow it up. Dave, JAT, FC? Hugs, Klavs

The best time to start flying is TODAY. Even if it's just a $50 intro flight, get your butt in the air and see if it's really for you. Only when the instructor hands you the stick (yoke, whatever) and says "your airplane" will you know if it's worth the investment or not. Addendum: I recommend getting your taildragger endorsement first thing after your VFR checkride. 2nd Addendum: Anybody in the Denver area is welcome to come fly taildragger/aerobatic with me anytime. 7KCAB FTW!

F-22A Version 2.01 Update
Klavs81 replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
I surely do wish you could slave EOGBs and EORs onto parked aircraft, as it is, you have to splash them with AAMs or strafe 'em. -

F-22A Version 2.01 Update

Why all the debate concerning AA/AG all of a sudden? I thought giving the aircraft an AA/AG mission was as simple as changing the primary and secondary roles and giving it some loadouts? PrimaryRoles=SEAD,STRIKE,CAP,SWEEP,INTERCEPT SecondaryRoles=CAS,RECON -
View File Pilot Legs Developer Pack Simple .3ds and Max 9 files containing the legs I used for the F-35. Drop it into your cockpit mesh to relieve that phantom limb syndrome. This is NOT, repeat NOT a plugin for Strike Fighters, it is for developers to add to their cockpits if they so choose. If somebody wants to play around with them and try adding them as an ini, feel free, but it ain't gonna be me! Cheers. Submitter Klavs81 Submitted 06/18/2009 Category Jet Cockpits

Looking really really really good guys! Looks like Joint Vision 2020 might happen sooner in SF2 than in the real world. -

Thanks for the help, FC. Now, can anyone tell me why in hell my seats and custom pilots aren't showing up all of a sudden?! I swear, I haven't done anything, they're just sitting in their folders in the aircraft folder like, has anything changed?! -

The soundtrack is from Ace Combat, too. Neat though.

Can anyone 'esplain to me how you rig a pilot model to animate in TW sims? I've got the body and the head as separate objects. There's a pivot point at the base of the head, on the neck. Now the question is, is the pilot run off of animations? I.E. 1: Turn Left 2: Turn Right 3: Look Up Or, is there nomenclature for naming the head so that SF detects that it's a HEAD type object and just animates it on its own? Help would be appreciated, otherwise Phil here's going to be looking dead ahead all the time. Cheers, -A
