  1. SF2 NAA B-45A & B-45C Pack

A much needed aircraft for the early NATO Fighters campaigns! Great job!
  2. Some Folks Found An Aerial Target Drone on a Beach

    Florida. https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/39863/high-performance-target-drone-washes-up-on-florida-beach
  3. Gotta be the Hun. Always felt slow and lumbering and you better hope you can bring those guns on target because AIM-9Bs suck. Redemption came towards the end of a CAS mission in NATO Fighters in WOE. Shooting down a MiG-19 in a turning fight in a clean F-100 felt great. I'll do ground attack in the F-100 all day but for the love of god keep me away from fighter sweep and intercepts. Also not so much of an aircraft's redemption story, but when I finally learned how to evade SA-2s and SA-6s without ECM or chaff. Sadly I still haven't figured out how to evade SA-8s. Apparently diving for the deck, dumping 20 chaff, ECM on, and a HARM headed for the launcher isn't enough to evade. Haven't survived a single Desert Storm campaign yet...
  4. I think I've experienced it on landing. That or I still suck at landing after 15 years with this game.
  5. "Look the squadron leader might be upset we leveled half the town doing it, but the damnevilcommbuilding is no more!" "You unload it!" "No, you unload it!" "Wait...this isn't my gate. This isn't even the right airport!"
  6. Completely normal. Either try to skip them or just take the L.
  7. I've spent a few hours today trying to find the career for a specific EA-6B Prowler, BuNo 161880. Why this aircraft? Well, the Prowler's always been one of my favorite aircraft and this was the only one I ever saw, at an airshow in 2006 where a young me might have tried to rotate the ram air turbine on an ALQ-99. Anyway, I was wondering if someone might have better luck finding a squadron by squadron history and ultimate disposition of this aircraft? The Prowler's airframe by airframe history seems much less well documented than say, an F-4 or F-14's. Thanks! EDIT: Finding the histories of specific aircraft I've seen on display at airshows or museums is something I've been doing to help pass the time while covid's being going on.
  8. Almost annoyingly, typing it that way instead of "EA-6B 161880" was giving me new results. Thanks to one page I was able to find the delivery date, 9/23/84. I haven't been able to find anything about its first ten years of service or if it was a Gulf War vet (I suppose I could check in the ODS Mod's Prowler for that!). Seems like it flew in the various VMAQs in the mid 1990s through mid 2000s. When I was it in 2006, it was assigned to VMAQ-4. Most pictures of it are from when it was the CAG for VAQ-129. @Wrench I've never used that website before, but it looks like a great source. Thanks!
  9. 20 February, 1991 Lockheed S-3B Viking BuNo 159765 from VS-32 aboard USS America becomes the first Hoover to engage and destroy an enemy vessel. The Viking was vectored by a cruiser to sink an Iraqi patrol boat.
  10. I like the presets with guides, because it offers an opportunity to utilize a different variation of a historic loadout and learn something new.
  11. Let me get this straight....

    Somebody win 2020 Bingo already!
  12. TOMCATS! Getting some BDA with the TARPS pod.
  13. Personally I don't see Pakistan committing any forces to the aid of Paran. Not only is Pakistan still considered a major non-NATO ally to the US, they still have their rival next door to consider. And Bangladesh, they have what, maybe 40 combat aircraft total? A bit unrealistic even for a what if campaign to consider them. I don't think Iran would volunteer that much of their air power either. Just my two cents. I like the idea though. Speaking of Iran, don't forget that Spinners uploaded a lovely Parani Saeqeh.
  14. Decided to give the Foxbat a try. I'm too close for missiles switching to...ah crap I forgot there's no gun!
  15. The F-4G's avionics.ini has A10RWRTrackSound and A10RWRLockSound listed, but neither of those files are in the Sounds folder.
  16. @Menrva Cool, glad to have helped. I noticed the same issue at Ali Al-Salem a few hours after I made that post. I don’t think I would have known had the Iraqis not redeployed a squadron of MiG-21s to it during the campaign.
  17. Received orders to retreat to Saudi Arabia. but first, one last gift for the Republican Guard.
  18. It's probably got to do with the game engine, but I noticed the parked aircraft at Ali Al-Salem were all in the dirt. Certainly not a game breaking issue, just thought I'd mention it. Only thing I've seen. EDIT: Might have been Al-Jaber. I'll see if I can replicate it. EDIT 2: Can confirm it's at Al-Jaber.
  19. Sun's going down, time to patrol the Gulf.
Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Once again the standard by which an all inclusive campaign should be held to has increased. I've played the Third Wire games for something close to fifteen years on and off now, and the Operation Desert Storm campaigns have always been among my favorite. This edition, released in commemoration of the thirtieth anniversary of Operation Desert Storm is incredibly detailed and includes many new aircraft and details. The new campaign featuring the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait is a fun challenge, one I don't expect my pilot to survive! I had been toying with the idea of returning to playing SF2 for a few months now, and this mod has made me feel like I did in 2006 the first time I picked up Wings Over Europe. To the Operation Desert Storm mod team and CombatAce staff, I thank you. Be proud of your amazing work!
  20. Ok, the content of the goodies folder is well worth the dive into while the mod installs. I'm excited to try out the defense of Kuwait campaign!
  21. This looks super impressive! Congratulations to the whole team. Also a good use of the subscription service, it'll remind idiots like me to renew!
