Mirage 3 to nesher?
MaverickMike replied to MaverickMike's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Thanks for the heads up. will check the data.ini for the engine I guess u guys have a good point about the radar as i dont really use it anyway. As for the r.530 missile id rather throw stones at the enemy. I have also noticed that the nesher carries more cannon ammo which is highly useful I guess after doing 50+ missions in the mirage 3 ive grown rather attatched to it lol Mike -
Hi guys I have been playing through the campaigns in WOI (i have also added the extra campaigns for the war for water, the attrition war and the Golan stalemate) and have just apparently upgraded to the nesher from the mirage 3 I don't know whether its just me but i felt it was more of a downgrade. Apart from the obvious differences in the aircraft I.E RWR and weapons capacity, i feel that the nesher isnt as good as the mirage 3 (in the game, dnt know about real life lol) As far as i can see (ive flown 3 missions so far) it has no radar. And also i find the engine to be much weaker. especially in accelaration. I was just wondering whether this is historically accurate or not? Mike

What are the eels?
MaverickMike replied to Dload's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Don't know how many of u will understand this but i have learned that "THEY" don't know welsh so: "Dyle pob llyswen cael ei phen ei thorri bant a chael ei thaflu i mewn i injan f-15e ar llawn afterburner. Dyna yw'r unig ffordd i cael gwared ohonyn nhw bant or planed hyn." This comes from an anonymous source that is very good at getting rid of "THEM" -
Gun jam
MaverickMike replied to New Guy's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Hi guys. interesting topic. I have had the 30mm from a mirage 3 jam on 2 ocaasions in woi. However both times my aircraft was damaged. Does this affect it i wonder? Mike -
That guy reminds me of the xfactor rejects. Some of them truly believe they are excellent.

Hi guys After a couple of months out of the game and this website i was just wondering if the desert storm mod has or is near to being completed. Please forgive me if i seem a bit ignorant if it has been released but i have had no internet for a few weeks and don't know how it is coming along. Any news would be much appreciated Mike

Easy Question
MaverickMike replied to Spiff's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I only have one kill with this missile, even though i take them on nearly all AA missions. believe it or not that one kill was just luck, i fired the missile and it just went straight until its motor burnt out. the mig i was chasing's wingman decided to manouver into it as it was falling to the ground lol -
Just thought id share this with the non-believers here http://www.metacafe.com/watch/250400/liger/ AMAZING!

Hi guys Just another seemingly noobish question to do with the TW sims I was flying a mirage 3 for the IAF in wings over israel this morning and we where tasked with a strike mission. During this mission i was hit by AAA and quite severly damaged. I had a lot of holes in the left wing, no rear gear, and only my left airbrake was functioning. I did however manage to get home so i thought id attempt a landing. I had to keep my nose down throughout the final and managed to stay on line using a lot of yaw. I touched down nose gear first and i gently let the back end touch the floor. KABOOM! my aircraft was then a smoking hole in the tarmac LOL. My question is this, is a crash landing possible in this series or do you always end up dead when a part of the plane that isnt supposed to touch the floor does? Mike

Ouch! That is definately not good. Normally you would have a good car but unfortunately that is rubbish as well

Hi guys Just thought id share what i have just been watching on tv. The armistice day ceremony was on between 10.00 and 11.30 this morning live from trafalgar square. The last 3 surviving members of britains armed forces from the great war were there paying their respects. Each was a member of the three armed forces (Navy, air force, army) and they each had a wreath to put at the monument. I noticed that the air force veteran insisted on putting his own wreath at the monument rather than letting one of his escorts doing it. They later went on to explain each of the veterans part in the conflict and it turns out that the regular army vet is the last surviving soldier that fought in the trenches. The royal navy vet fought in both world wars, and the air force vet turned out to be a founding member of the RAF (during the first world war the army was also responsible for aircraft). These people I believe deserve the utmost respect from younger generations I think it is important to remember the people that gave everything during the great war so that future generations could live in peace. To all those who fell Gone but never forgotten

More Pics From WPAFB and the AF Museum
MaverickMike replied to Dave's topic in Military and General Aviation
Are those the new X prototype top secret speed of light bombers on the right? LOL -
Although im not an expert at the TW sims, im also not a noob, however there are two questions that i have been stuck in my mind recently that maybe the more 'seasoned veterans' could answer 1. When flying missions and requesting help off red crown, do they EVER send anyone to help out. Its just that every time i request help the answer is "Negative, all our assets are commited" AAAAARRRRGGGHHH! LOL 2. the second thing ive also noticed that when on my approach to home base the tower always says runway 24 (or whatever runway no. it is) is in use, does this mean i do not have clearance to land? most of the time i just land anyway LOL any help would be much appreciated Mike

How about moving to Wales? Its got some really awesome scenery and you wouldn't have to worry about violence cos there isnt much happening in that sense. Iv lived in wales all my life and rarely hear about murders or violence. On the other hand i suppose it depends where in wales you go Mike

Hi guys I am hoping to get a new joystick next week and was hoping to get an idea of which one to buy I am looking to spend no more than £40, as i have a tight budget, but would like one with a throttle controller. I am currently using the saitek st90 stick which is a bit jumpy to say the least. Any feedback would be much appreciated Mike

F-15A Noob
MaverickMike replied to MaverickMike's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Thanks for replying Crusader How do you add IFF to the search mode of the radar? Mike -
Hi guys I am not really a noob at playing the thirdwire games, however i am a noob at playing the simulation with visual targetting and HUD on HARD settings. I have just started a campaign in WOE flying the USAF f-15A and was wondering how do you tell between friend and foe on the radar screen? in my first mission i managed to shoot down a german f-4 lol. I have downloaded the f15-A avionics upgrade so i do not have TWS mode on the radar if this makes a difference Thanks Mike
