  1. A base Mustang has a 3.7 Liter, 305 HP V6 and retails for $23,800 US. To get a V8 in that car, one needs to upgrade to the Mustang GT (5 liter V8, 435 HP), which retails for $32,300 here in the 'States. Both cars have a highway MPG figure that allows them to avoid the one-time gas guzzler tax (they must exceed 22.5 MPG)
  2. That would be bad for me, as I have a 5.2 liter engine in my truck.
  3. So an old Ford ad from that very year. It stated that one could finance a '55 Ford for $55 down and payments would be $55 per month for three years.
  4. The effect is either always on, or is turned off by switching at AB, or cutting the engine off. It is possible to add additional (fake) engines and link effects to them, but one is still limited to the parameters that I mentioned before.
  5. There's no annual tax on vehicles in my state. You pay state sales tax when you first purchase it, and that's it. Some will argue that the annual vehicle registration is actually a tax (and I will not argue with that). I pay $71.50 per year to register my truck. Here is the break down of registration fees in NJ: 1 1970 or older Under 2,700 lbs. $35.50 2 1970 or older 2,700 lbs. - 3,800 lbs. $44.50 3 1970 or older Over 3,800 lbs. $65.50 4 1971 – 1979 Under 2,700 lbs. $38.50 5 1971 – 1979 2,700 lbs. - 3,800 lbs. $49.50 6 1971 – 1979 Over 3,800 lbs. $72.50 7 older than 2 years Under 3,500 lbs. $46.50 7 within 2 years Under 3,500 lbs. $59.00 8 older than 2 years Over 3,500 lbs. $71.50 8 within 2 years Over 3,500 lbs. $84.00 9 older than 2 years Commuter Van** $71.50 9 within 2 years Commuter Van** $84.00
  6. I just paid $1.89 US per gallon. That translates to .44 Euros per liter.
  7. I Don't I wish! According to the NJ Star Ledger, that image was taken in 1969.
  8. Pcpilot, I recall once pulling into a no-name (independent) gas station sometime in late 1977. I was driving a 1969 Mustang, and it was literally running on fumes. The gas station attendant was amazed at how much gas that car managed to take into its (20-gallon) tank. He yelled out to his co-workers "I just pumped ten dollars worth into a Mustang!" Yep, those were the days. Hey, anyone notice the '67 Shelby GT500 at the pump in the second image?
  9. Saw these in our local newspaper's website, and thought I'd share. 1962, Haddonfield, NJ: 1969, Park Ridge, NJ: Back when I started driving (in the Autumn of 1975), regular fuel sold for around 50 cents, and premium was about .10 more. By 1978, prices had risen another 10 cents, and a year later (Summer of 1979), they exceeded $1.00 per US gallon for the first time.
  10. In that case, you may simply be too close.
  11. Are you sure that you're within parameters (in-range indicator light illuminated, etc)?
  12. I really wish you hadn't mentioned bikinis. This video was taken on New Year's Day, 2015, just a few miles up the coast, in Asbury Park, NJ, during the annual Polar Bear Plunge. The air temperature was a balmy 30F (-1 C), and the surf temperature was about 41F (5 C).
  13. Let's see, air temps below freezing (with a windchill effect making it feel well below freezing), and water temps that can cause hypothermia in mere minutes.... Yeah, that looks and sounds tempting Sorry, but warmer climes with great surfing are just a plane ride away.

    Brrrrrrrrrrr!

    Maybe it's just me, but.....
  15. There is no need to edit the aircraftobject.ini with any of the SF2 titles.
  16. Is the aircraft you're having an issue with a 3rd-party add-on, or a default SF2 model?
  17. The Skyhawk, like many of its contemporaries, had a T.L.A.R gunsight that was used for both gunnery and bombing, as well as a LABS timer for nuclear weapons delivery.
  18. Never did find out, but as I recall, the penalty wasn't for beating one's wife, it was for cruelty to the eel!
  19. It's quite high, in excess of 450 KIAS according to published charts.
  20. Off the top of my head, the hi-res ship model addons for XWA, which are available from Darksaber's site.
  21. Skill levels can be set by individual aircraft type, and by nation. In the FMs I penned up for the KAW add on, for example, I set both the MiG-15bis and the F-86s at veteran (minimum) to ace settings. This makes for some wild dogfights. Since it merges by default, it will work with all SF2 titles.
