  5. ... are totally porked. I just noticed this, but it may have been around for a few patches. I tried commenting out some different emitters to isolate the issue, but didn't have any luck. Can any of the effect gurus take a look at it? This is the effect from the SF2V A&G XP. Thanks. Gregg

  7. Yes. All the stock WoV campaigns have no ground forces. Take a look at those campaign files.
  8. Cool. I am going to check this game out for sure now.
  9. I use this one: http://combatace.com/files/file/7743-desert-israel2-ground-environment-update/ No HD tiles, but nice trees and other things. Works in SF2.
  10. I noticed the same thing a while ago, but forgot to bring it up.
  11. SF1 Falklands mod was not compatible with the '08 patch and has to be applied to a '06 patch level install.
  12. Funny thing: SF2 (all titles and exp packs merged), patched up to May 2011. Nato Fighters 4+ has fading trees and near horizon distance on the GermanyCE map. But, loaded up the Desert terrain with Stary's enhanced desert/Israel environment enhancement (from the SF1 downloads section), and I got this: No fading trees and the horizon is stretching further. Any thoughts?

  14. That is a great idea. I've never tried that...
  15. Mustangs. A couple around SF Bay Arean (Megascenery Nor Cal) and one over Morro Bay (Central California Coast add-on by Al Wheeler).
  16. +1. I've said over and over again in this thread that I ran WoX and SF2 just fine on a laptop with an integrated card. But I guess I'm a fool as well.
  17. Just curious, how does the new patch work with NF4+, Vietnam Exp Packs, and Falklands mod? I'm assuming since the Falklands mod used a custom .cat file, it probably won't work. What about the others? I've changed my mind about not continuing to patch. This isn't the end of the world. I will continue supporting TK (as my bank account allows).
  18. Well, let's assume for a second that all of TK's users are using intel chipset laptops... As I said on the last page, I was using a 2.2ghz dual core, 1GB RAM laptop with an intel GMA X3100 integrated graphics card up until a month ago. I got the laptop in 2007, so it was an old integrated card. I had no issues running Stary's terrains at medium settings. I could run the stock game at high settings. I would assume that a game developer would want to establish their graphics settings so that low end systems use "low" settings and high end systems use "high" settings. But now low end systems will use "high" settings and for those with high end systems, the game becomes the constraint instead of the equipment. I just don't get it. Oh well. I doubt this discussion will get us anywhere. It's up to TK at this point to decide the direction of the game and it's up to the consumer(s) to determine if the product is worth the price. *Edit* - I've changed my mind. This isn't the end of the world. I will continue supporting TK (as my bank account allows). I also edited my post on the TW boards.
  19. Well, on the one hand, I was using an intel chip until about a month ago. Not that I was the average user - just pointing out that it did happen. And I was under the hood just as much as anyone else. But, that being said, I was using an intel chip from 2007 and getting 30 fps with tree mods, horizon distance at normal, and ground objects at normal. So, TK is 100% wrong by using the intel chip thing as an excuse for cutting back draw distance. And besides, if that was an issue, why wouldn't he just make the "near" setting very near, but leave "far" and "very far" where they were? I don't understand why he needs to remove the scaleability of the game. He should be increasing it instead.
  20. Expressed my concern at the TW boards.
  21. Well, this is a bummer. I can say with 100% confidence that I will not continue patching or buying any future Expansion Packs if it is going to screw up the draw distance for trees, buildings, etc... I think TK is making a bad decision here. *Edit* - I've changed my mind. This isn't the end of the world. I will continue supporting TK (as my bank account allows). I also edited my post on the TW boards.
