  1. Just got FSX in the last couple of weeks. I've already added GEX, UTX, REX, and Acceleration. Loving it on my new laptop!
  2. Guys - I normally use photobucket for screenshots, but I wanted to try using the CA gallery instead. I loaded my image there, but I can't figure out how to link it into my post so the image displays... Any help?
  3. Sorry. I should know the answer to this, but I don't. I just tried using the member gallery for the first time, and, while I was able to upload my image there, I can't figure out how to properly link it to a forum post. Normally, with photobucket, I copy the "" link it offers and paste that into my post. There is no such link in the CA gallery (that I can find), and posting the URL and other links that are offered when I click "share" just puts the link in my post, but doesn't display the image. What exactly do I need to do to get my gallery image to display in the thread/post? Thanks!
  4. Just curious, are you guys trying this in FE1 or FE2? I have FE1 and was thinking about giving enb a try...
  5. Thanks Panama Red! You should upload that to the downloads section!
  6. Quick bump! Can anyone comment on what I asked about above? Does anyone have lots of clouds in "broken" with the last patch, or is it FUBAR for everyone else in addition to me? Thanks.
  7. Yep. DX10 now. I was using XP before. I've already noticed some "glowing" tracers. (That's a DX10 shader thing, right?)
  8. I am 1000 times more excited about watching Michael Scott's (Steve Carrel) last episode on the Office tonight than I could ever be about some celebrity wedding. So, no, I will not be watching.
  9. Well, it finally came yesterday!!! I went home at lunch and fired it up for the first time - everything worked fine. By the time I went to bed last night, I had all my personal stuff (music, pictures, etc...) copied over, all my music and playlists up and running in itunes, and ALL of my backed up games copied onto the HD. I also had the mod folders for my four SF2 installations set up. I fired up a CAS mission in an A-10 over NF4+ GermanyCE this morning before work with all graphics set to Unlimited... ...and... the moment of truth... FPS pegged at 50!!! SWEET!!! (my old laptop gave me ~20-25 fps at low-med settings...). Next up is get TrackIR and my Saitek software installed. Then make sure FS9 (and all the addons) are working. Then make sure IL-2 is working and get UP3.0 installed. Then EECH... Then I'll probably download FF5.5 and give that a try. Oh yeah... So far, I think I like Win7. Still getting used to some stuff, but so far so good...
  10. Hey guys, I know I'm late to the party on this one, but I just want to confirm that something I'm seeing for the first time is what's already been discussed here. I had a modified environmentsystem.ini file where I changed the cloud values for broken to be the same as scattered due to system performance. I just got my new laptop, and since I'm pegged at 50fps with all unlimited settings, I decided to restore the original widesky broken layer. However, no matter what I tried, broken always looked similar to scattered. I tried: Restoring my original environmentsystem.ini file Using the one from the SF2 Falkland Mod Using the one from "Better Widesky for SF2" by the insky team Starting with a fresh Flight folder (instead of my NF4+ one) and installing just "Better Widesky..." After trying each of the above, I never got the old "Broken", which was a sky full of clouds. Just scattered looking stuff. I renamed my Flight folder and started the sim to confirm that I was messing with the right folder, and I got stock clouds and sky. When I restored my Flight folder, I got the Widesky stuff again (minus the full clouds). So I know I was playing with the right folder and files. So anyway, this problem is what this thread was about, right? Or do I have something else weird going on? ( I hope not...) Thanks! Gregg
  11. Well, it shipped 4 days late, but it's finally on its way! Ship date: Apr 22, 2011 Estimated delivery: Apr 27, 2011 by 10:30 AM I have all of my stuff backed up on 2 portable hard drives and ready to copy over. Can't wait!
  12. I just can't believe that this guy wasn't high as kite or drunk or something... unless he just really is THAT DUMB...

  15. What a f**king dumba$$ @sshole!!! I hope he gets in huge trouble for that sh!t. Too many more idiots like him and they won't let anybody in the air.
  16. Thanks! I'll give this a try!!!
  17. OK. I think that's what I had heard. I will probably just put all my games in a "games" folder just to be safe. What about things like TrackIR and my Saitek software? Are those OK in program files?
  18. You don't need to edit a .dll file. The game won't work if you do. You need to make changes in the .ini files in the folder for the campaign you want to modify. Have a look through your game folder; you should be able to find them. As for what to change, there used to be a great article in the knowledge base, but I can't find it right now. Maybe someone knows where it went... But anyway, if you look through the .ini files in the campaign folder, you might be able to figure out what you need to update.
  19. Hey Dave, what settings can you play DCS A-10C with on your M11X? Another question regarding the new laptop - this will be my first experience with Win7 (using XP right now). I know there are supposed to be some tricks about where to install games (supposedly not the "program files" folder...?) Can anyone give me the low-down? I want to simply "copy and paste" over as many games as I can. IL-2, hopefully SF2, EECH, not sure about FS9...
