Where have you been all my life folks! Many thanks! -
I was trying to load the Mk83 for a drill on teh Canberra. The internal bay won't provide accomodation. After checking, I find it is a problem with one of the parameters under the [bombBay]: Original [bombBay] SystemType=WEAPON_STATION StationID=9 StationGroupID=6 StationType=INTERNAL AttachmentPosition=0.0,0.0,0.0 AttachmentAngles=0.0,0.0,0.0 LoadLimit=4096 AllowedWeaponClass=BOMB,NUC AttachmentType=USAF NumWeapons=12 AttachmentPosition001=-0.371,-0.053,-0.550 AttachmentPosition002= 0.371,-0.053,-0.550 AttachmentPosition003=-0.371, 1.747,-0.600 AttachmentPosition004= 0.371, 1.747,-0.600 AttachmentPosition005=-0.371, 3.547,-0.650 AttachmentPosition006= 0.371, 3.547,-0.650 AttachmentPosition007= 0.000,-0.053,-0.220 AttachmentPosition008= 0.000, 1.747,-0.270 AttachmentPosition009= 0.000, 3.547,-0.320 AttachmentPosition010= 0.000,-0.053,-0.620 AttachmentPosition011= 0.000, 1.747,-0.670 AttachmentPosition012= 0.000, 3.547,-0.720 DiameterLimit=0.4 LengthLimit=2.2 BombBayAnimationID=3 BombBayOpenTime=0.8 BombBayCloseTime=0.8 MinExtentPosition=-0.61,-1.16,-1.12 MaxExtentPosition= 0.61, 4.31,-0.45 Please change to [bombBay] SystemType=WEAPON_STATION StationID=9 StationGroupID=6 StationType=INTERNAL AttachmentPosition=0.0,0.0,0.0 AttachmentAngles=0.0,0.0,0.0 LoadLimit=4096 AllowedWeaponClass=BOMB,NUC AttachmentType=USAF NumWeapons=12 AttachmentPosition001=-0.371,-0.053,-0.550 AttachmentPosition002= 0.371,-0.053,-0.550 AttachmentPosition003=-0.371, 1.747,-0.600 AttachmentPosition004= 0.371, 1.747,-0.600 AttachmentPosition005=-0.371, 3.547,-0.650 AttachmentPosition006= 0.371, 3.547,-0.650 AttachmentPosition007= 0.000,-0.053,-0.220 AttachmentPosition008= 0.000, 1.747,-0.270 AttachmentPosition009= 0.000, 3.547,-0.320 AttachmentPosition010= 0.000,-0.053,-0.620 AttachmentPosition011= 0.000, 1.747,-0.670 AttachmentPosition012= 0.000, 3.547,-0.720 DiameterLimit=0.4 LengthLimit=2.9 <<---------------------------------Change here BombBayAnimationID=3 BombBayOpenTime=0.8 BombBayCloseTime=0.8 MinExtentPosition=-0.61,-1.16,-1.12 MaxExtentPosition= 0.61, 4.31,-0.45 AI will load and release the weapon now.

You will have to use Full Screen to watch the video coz it was recorded under 1024x768 resolution. Is that what you mean? -
Lexx_Lutor, I have noticed that I can zoom out to the whole world so much that I can see the horizon bcoming more and more like an arc. Which modification is responsible for this, I remember I put a line in the in the flightengine.ini [FarSceneClip] FarClipDistance=5000000.0 [NormalSceneClip] FarClipDistance=5000000.0 Do they control the zoom level after I press Ctrl+F12?

Another qite user friendly editor is called Le Missionneur 2006. -
"CNN has received unconfirmed report that Dong Hoi Airbase of Vietnam has been nuked during a US and UN joint military drills in the area. Aparently, a US B-52D carrying nuclear weapons has inadvertantly targetted the airbase....." I hope you like this headline caption. Enough for screenshots. Thought a video would be more fun and easier for you to perceive how good the work of Lexx_Luthur is. The video is about 5 minutes long. Took 14 minutes to convert from a proprietary codec to .wmv format so it is readable/viewable by Windows Media. The screen resolution of the recording and in-game is set to 1024 x 768. Graphics quality has been optimised. That's why the framerates are slow somehow. Pay attentions to the radio chatter. When you heard "Bombs away..." you will notice that I've panned out to the "World View" by Ctrl+F12 and zoomed out as much as I can. I should have Time Compress to let you see how the mushroom cloud further develops into a very thick and widely spreadedout clouds. The weather is set to "CLEAR" but if you look up from the "point zero" into the sky, you only see the nuclear clouds. I wish to shorten the time for conversion so I cut the recording short. Hope you enjoy the video. Don't forget to view it at Full Screen Video here:-> http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...si&img=5593

Bomb Bay - B-52
Basher11 replied to Basher11's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Sorry! I have fixed it. Because I modofied the Mk-82 to carry nuclear warhead, and I didn't include NUC in the .INI file. It's all worked out and video is in progress. Should post the video on another thread, sorry for the trouble! -
Bomb Bay - B-52
Basher11 replied to Basher11's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Hey guys! I have found out what's wrong. The plane wasn't loaded!!!!! I didn't find out until more than 10 trial and error on different things like tweaking the .INI files. I even re-design another simple mission just to reset mission parameters like altitude, speed to defaults. Still no joy! Just now, I jumped into the B-52 by setting it as my player aircraft. Then I went into the loadout screen. It's EMPTY!! Darn!! Guess what... The LOADOUT.INI file says 24 Mk-82 bombs. But in the loadout screen and the Store Available screen, there are no Mk-82 bombs but Mk-82 Snake 500lbs bomb. For some reasons, one of the INI files just messed up the Mk-82s. There are 2 types of Mk-82 according to Bunyap weapons pack. I go back and try. Post bakc in a moment! P.S. By the way, out of trouble-shooting I found this page -> http://bunyap2w1.com/SFP1_Wiki/index.php?t...Weapon_Stations -

Bomb Bay - B-52
Basher11 replied to Basher11's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
It's a custom mission. Task assigned is Strike. I have checked that already. Is that because it carries 24xMk-82 making it too heavy I mean exceeding the load limit? Or it is the diameter and length of the bay? Anyone, please help! -
Anyone can help me with this? I set up a B-52 as AI on a Strike mission. When it reached the Objective Point, it wouldn't drop any bombs. The bomb bay door seemed to be jammed. Is that a bug or I have to check out some of the settings of the .INI files?

Any video upload services?
Basher11 replied to Basher11's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Thanks Eric. I go preparing the video now! -
I was inside the F-104 cockpit. The VERY first blast which I have missed taking the shot, was immense. Because I am using a CRT, the effect was rendered up to 99%. Basically apart from my cockpit, everything went brilliance white. I wish Lexx_Luthur could make that brilliance of light lasts a little longer. Something happens like the 3rd picture would have basically mean complete annihilation. Listen, I am looking for an aircraft which can take on the nuclear bomb inside a bomb bay that would be cool to watch the bomber opens the bay door before the bomb is dropped. Give me some time, let me prepare a video. The conversion from one codec to .wmv takes a bit longer than usual.

Maybe I don't know how to operate it or there is a problem with the AI, the B57B won't open its bomb bay door when it is supposed to drop bomb over target point. I am talking about the AI B57B. The other stations works fine, they manage to release bombs. Only the Station 9, the Internal Bomb Bay. Any one has any idea? I need the plane for my next nuclear bomb drill. It's alright, I'll call upon the 86th Bombardment Squadron for a little help there!

It is Lexx_Luther who deserves the credits not me, I lack sufficient knowledge. When I tried it out last night and saw the results, I know things will never be the same again in the Third Wire world. That mushroom and the rings look just like what I saw in "Thirteen Days"! The effect is collectively named as Nuclear Weapon Effects 1.3. You may download from http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=5271. You will have to modify some of the files to accomplish the drill. I used the Megaton one. If you want to see the effect, you must ride in another aircraft say 100 nautical miles away from point zero. You will have to set up another aircraft to carry and drop the bombs at point zero. The delivery aircraft and pilots were killed in my case, they were nowhere to be found when the bomb released all its energy in a brilliance of light which lasted just for a little less than 2 seconds. You will have to use the Mission Editor to create a custom mission for drill like this. Since you leave it to the AI aircrafts to do delivery the bomb, therefore, you must change some of their loadouts. In my case, I used the F-4J to carry the bombs. Since you will not be able to change the loadouts of the carrier aircraft at briefing, you must make changes to the F-4J loadout.ini. In my case, I changed the Strike loadout to include the nukes. Pay attentions that Lexx_Luther's work has nothing to do with whichever weapons you use. I have just learnt that in the Third Wires series, weapons and their properties are separated from the effect that is associated with the weapons. In my case, I changed the effect properties of the Mk-84 which is a dumb bomb. You could choose the GBU, it is quite independent. But because I was using the SFP1 environment, it is not appropriate to use GBUs. I like this effect VERY VERY much. Next I am going to try is multiple warheards. The way to do it I guess is to let the plane carry mulitple Mk84 or any altered bombs and reduce the ripple intervals so that they are like being dropped almost simultaneously. I will post pictures because That would be much spectacular. Subscribe to this thread, I will post later.

Credits go to Lexx_Luther and those who have helped me to understand how things worked in the weapondata.ini ... etc... "Sudden Afternoon" Looking from my cockpit, my ship was very far away.. The visual is spectacular. What is really amazing is the dust on the ground surely that covers quite a wide area of destruction.

Due to frequent modiciation and trail and error activities, I have finally came up with a pretty convenient plan for backing up your SFP1, WoV and WoE installations. First make a clean installation. Then place either KMD or the shortcut of Le Missionneur 2006 into the game's default folder. Now ZIP the entire game folder. C:\Program Files\Strategy First and name it to say Strategy First. Do the same to WoV and WoE. Burn the backup copies into a DVD. I have checked already that the registry entry is very simple and they have no dependencies on each other so no need to reinstall the registry entry. If you need a clean re-installation, just delete the game folder entirely, then unzip the game fom the DVD, NICE & NEAT!
