  1. NO Fubar, I need that file to install your file - November_SSN the sub, you remember??
  2. That's strange! I have not that file in the Objects folder. Neither is it in the ObjectData.CAT file. Is it because I have patched it to the latest SP4 patch?
  3. Where can I locate GroundObjectData.ini in SFP1? Does it exist in SFP1 default installation? Or you will have to create it?
  4. WoW! http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...si&img=5149
  5. Sorry I didn't make myself clear enough. Terrain masking is on autopilot mode.
  6. I downloaded FRAPS and it only records the first 30 seconds video. Which version provides unlimited recodring?
  7. CNN has unconfirmed report that a F-104 Starfighter has successfully conducted a terrain masking flight for 2000km somewhere in the other part of the world. Details will be supplied in due course. Congratulations from all nations are received.
  8. Fubar512: You will have to watch the video to see it for yourself. I could be wrong, but visual recognition tells me it looks like that. Flight simulation games is somehow a funny product. Some of the effects might not be modelled according to original intention. But it happens to be a surprise. A couple of years back, I was indulged in Falcon 4 with the superpacks. The hex-editing was sort of like going mad for everyone in the community, I was one of them. Modifying some of the weapons and aricrafts. It was the Harpoon and the B-52 Fortress I was working on. Out of sheer incidence, I changed the weapon properties of the Harpoon making it IRguided which is not true in the real world. The results I got was a surprise. Each waypoint of the flight pinpointed on a target city. So I attacked 10 cities and made 14 waypoints. All of them are thousands of miles away. I switched to the next waypoint and launched the Harpoon, all 10 Harpoons were air-launched at stand-off range and all the cities were precisely hit. Look I will try recording and show you a video.
  9. Many years ago, I played F/A-18 on Hyper Lobby too. It is quite a good place to join game, lagging issue was rare then. Don't know what it is like now but should be ok.
  10. Amazing isn't it, I mean the coding of this game. It really makes possibles possible doesn't it? You can do alots of thing. 1995 EA's production USNF is equally fantastic. You can make customised mission and fly F-15 at 100,000 feet.
  11. I have just tried out 100000meter, I died after 3 minutes decend. Don't know why the simulate has decided that fate for me though!
  12. It is a custom made mission, out of the mission editor. Currently, I have no other plans but only making custom missions. So you help would be much appreciated. I have been trying very hard to look at some .INI files in pursuit of a control parameter which upon engagin the autopilot, my flight would go terrain-hugging at say 200ft or something like that. Still no luck I still believe there must be a parameter the name of which is unknown to me of course and it might not be there in any one of the .INI files that controls low level flying. What is YAP, please do tell me!
  13. Funny that some of the stock aircrafts which has no reconnaisance pod device have the RECON role enabled in Mission Editor. Anyway, as far as a reconnaisance mission goes, what is ht ecommand for taking photos? And after mission completion, where and how do I collect the photos? 1 more question: when I started on the runway, the game engine said "Mission Completed..." How do I fix that ?
  14. Looks like the game engine is quite up to scratch. In Falcon 4 + SP4, I made a record for a MiG-25PD climbing up to over 100,000ft and the sky turned dark blue. Of course, some modification was made to the engine and the altitude parameters. When the cockpit disappeared, I think I died.
  15. That's very good visual. When is it due out? That plane-looking indicator down near the bottom left, is it for the gears up/down? Where is the ejection lever? By the way, are they all moving parts instrument?
  16. But have you really it? I mean that's remarkable. Look, why don't you tell me how to make a video capture so that I can show you on YouTube. I suppose screenies won't do the job for sand blowing. I heard that FRAPS could do the job but does it kill some of the framerates?
  17. But really, all the instruments are quite different. Besides, a dummy pilot makes most realism, current F-111 pit doesn't include a dummy pilot does it?
  18. Le Missionnuer 2006 I vote for. The User Interface is friendly which means easy to use.
  19. After many many hours of testing, an interim conclusion is reached. Aircrafts in SFP1 do not like altitude lower than 500 meters. From Way Point #2 (DEPART) to Way Point #3 (INITIAL POINT), altitude must not be lower than 750 meter. Violating these altitudes results in bumpy flight which typically exhibits behaviour like airbrakes malfunction and afterburner on and off all the time. I attempted to change the various parameters under the ALTITUDE section of the missioncontrol.ini extracted from mission.cat but in vain. All the changes made to that section seems not being picked up by the game engine. Are there any solutions here? Your help will be greatly appreciated!
  20. Amazing, truly amazing! I have never seen a flight simulation that renders ground and air weather in such details. See I was designing a mission to get a feel of the Mission Editor and how things played out in a mission design. Out of witty curiorsit y I set the wind speed to 250 which is in fact close to a tropical typhoon which I heard frequently happens in Asia Pacific countries. Wind direction set to 0 degree. When I ran the mission, I saw clouds moving side ways even my ship was flying forward. When I fast forward the time to 8X, the effect was more obvious and sometimes puffy clouds moved to the left and the next moment they moved to the right! . What's more is after landing on the runway on autopilot, sand was seen as tiny waves swept tot he direction of the wind!! Which part of the simulation is responsible for this? Particle system? TK, it's really incredible you know!
  21. Gocad: Thanks for the clarification, I really want to join the Mission Designer post. I tried the following settings: [Altitude] Normal=90 Low=90 VeryLow=90 High=90 VeryHigh=90 just for testing purposes. Still, it won't fly close to the ground. It still maintains something like 1200ft AGL and as you said very bumpy flights. What have I done wrongly?
  22. Yes, indeed. I have found out the successful landing is dependent upon several parameters. The distance between the TOUCHDOWN and LINEUP waypoints. That was a guess initially, but after realizing the use of missioncontrol.ini, I have confirmed this parameter. The waypoint size as I have guessed is the "turning circle" around the waypoint the aircraft reaches. I tried set it to 100 for TOUCHDOWN and the aircraft never did. My current trouble is after changing the altitudes to very small values like 100m, the aircraft still won't do low level flying. Should I leave the modified missioncontrol.ini file inside the flight folder so that the game engine picks it up and bypasses the .CAT file or I should put the missioncontrol.ini file elsewhere?
