  1. Wondering if it's possible to attach individual bump maps to each tile called out in the terrains' DATA.ini. Rather than one map used over the terrain as a whole. Just a thought.
  2. I'm going to add a few more tiles that don't have trees. More big fields looks much better. BTW I've been working on the Verdun terrain. Adding more roads too
  3. Lol I tried to delete it before you read it. I already changed it. Now it works. I spent the whole day figuring out the TFD tool. It's great! I can place new tiles and airfields now. I also figured out how to manipulate the height field too. Lots of plans now. Larger bomber fields is one (without those nice tall trees as borders!)
  4. Which Macchi and which Lohner?????!!!! Do tell
  5. The stone work is from the original church .bmp. I just changed the roof colors and tiles. I added a bit of stained glass too.
  6. I sure will. I'm almost done. Need to work on the Spring folder a bit more. I'm adding a couple of new churches too. Well not "new" but one will have a red steeple and another with a green steeple. They will be scattered around. When I was in Austria and Germany a few years back I noticed all the little towns had multiple small churches. Each one had a different colored steeple (red or green). It was very cool to see them stick up above the little towns. I figured it would look cool from the air as well for FE.
  7. I ended up going over all the different seasons and tweaking them all. I changed the colors of all the "Town" houses and added color to the trees. I touched up tiles etc, etc. I even had to re-do a bunch of the water .tga's in each folder. Still not done but here are a few pics of some of the seasons: Remember I just tweaked the original work by Jan Tuma. I didn't create anything new.
  8. Great addition gterl. It's almost creepy flying over the ruins. I've seen the before and after photos of fort Douaumont.
  9. Very cool idea gterl! But I don't know if its just my setup but what's the tile supposed to be near the fort? It has some grass and craters but looks like it's in the shape of a fort. See pics:
  10. I don't really think anything has to be changed. I was just wondering because there were different versions as you stated. The longer nose looks better. but its possible the shorter nose is more accurate. Sorry to stir up trouble Stephen. But like you said, I guess now would be the time to be picky
  11. Not to be too critical here, and I can very well be wrong, but is the nose a bit short for a "C" type? Looking at some photos of real BE 2C's the nose seems longer. Perhapes extended for larger engine?
  12. I want to be the first to shoot it down! MUAHHAHAHAHA!!!!!! I would want a deflector plate welded to the top of my headgear if I was the pilot of that model. And some earplugs.
  13. Ah! I didn't realize there was an update for the W.4. Thanks Stephen
  14. None of my W.4 folders has a wood and linen skin. Did I miss something in a download? Was the early W.4 updated?
  15. The Austrian skins are not in the pack. Only the hex camo is in the Austrian skin folder. Is this correct or am I missing something?
  16. You keep surprising us with with these great rare seaplanes. Great work Stephen1918. With gterl's Italian Front terrain in the works any plans for any Italian Macchi or Austrian Lohner flying boats?
  17. Have you created any "StrategicNodes" for campaign use? They link all the ground locations for any movement of troops or vehicles for campaigns? They dont go into the terrain folder but into a campaign data.ini. I figured since you are fresh at knowing all the locations on your map it would be easier for you to make a "StrategicNode" list than any of us. I hope I'm not being too pushy, but it is important for campaign use.
  18. She's a beauty Stephen1918. Keep'em comin.
  19. Very exciting! Looks beautiful. Can't wait. Well I can wait but I don't want to
  20. Bandy organized the cities over a year ago. But he only did the summer tiles (I think). I had to add the city configuration to the "Snow" and "DEEP_SNOW" tiles and add the snow. I did no work with the Terrain Editor to do this stuff. I only painted over Jan Tuma's work. I have no idea how to even get the TE to start up correctly. It crashes for me every time I try something. I would love to make larger, straighter fields on the tiles. But then I would have to move trees and things. That, I don't know how to do. Yet. I just need to do a Spring and Fall set. Not sure just yet how I want them to look. Very dull for Fall, and lighter green with flowers and such for Spring. Early_Spring will have just a trace of snow on the ground.
  21. I felt the summer tiles needed a bit more green rather than the patches of browns through most of the year. I also used Bandy's city tile upgrades to organize the buildings and streets. I've painted and/or touched up all the folders for Jan Tuma's seasonal upgrade. I'm just working a bit more on the Early_Spring folder. I'm adding some lighter color to the greens and even spring flowers to the trees and bushes. the pics are just a WIP. But almost done. I any of you are interested in this I'll post it for sure. Some of you might not like the green. Maybe too much? Let me know. Some spring flowers WIP:
  22. I started working on more pup units for the RFC. No.46, No.54, and No.66 Squadrons. I have a few books on these RFC Pup units and there really isn't much as far as Photos go. Even reports of flight markings is very vague. Plenty of Pilot names for campaign building. So I'm making the flight markings a bit generic. A flight to be white or no color, B flight to be in red, and C flight to be blue or blue divided with white ( for No.66 Squadron). Anyway here are a few pics of No.66 Squadron: BTW the Flight markings will be done using decals. 5 per flight. Just like my Naval 3 Pups.
  23. Sorry to hear about your family issues Stephen. Hope it all will work out for the better. Take all the time you need. This stuff is just for fun.
  24. AI does have a problem with getting over mountains. I'm sure there is something in the aircrafts' Data.ini under the AI parameter that can help with this. In the Vogesen terrain I have had problems with flights of AI bombers and recon planes hitting the mountain sides resulting in landing or crashing. They do try to get over the mountains though. Just not hard enough I guess. gterl, will you be making the "Strategic Nodes" for the terrains' Data.ini?
