Ive recently been working an a mission that is loosly based on the mission on Call of Duty 5 where you are assualting the beach. If you have played this mission, you will know there are coursairs (dont know how its spelt) flying around as you are heading for the beach in the landing craft. The main aim of the mission is to take out some of the airfield before the operation is going to take place. There are lots of ships and boats I have hit a couple of problems though: 1. I cant get any flak firing up at my squadron, so there is really no challenge 2. All the ships are facing the wrong way If you could take a look at the mission for me and see if you can help the problems in the mission, i would really appreciate it. If you want to see it, send me a PM and ill send you a copy of the mission file and the files that you need for the mission to work. Cheers, scouserlad13

What to do when in a rip? Interesting Story, read here
scouserlad13 replied to scouserlad13's topic in The Pub
Thankyou all for your help, i just needed to know what to do if i ever got caught in a rip or got stuck in a situation like this again. And also thankyou for the recognition but im not a hero, i just did what had to be done at the time. But i now respect how fit a lifeguard has to be to do the job. Thanks again -
Well, today i was down at the gold coast beach minding my own business when as i was walking to the sea for a swim, a 14 year old girl (i think she was 14) came up to me with a look of panic on her face. She told me her 2 brothers where stuck in a rip about 30ft out. So with me not thinking, i ran out into the sea to go and rescue them. The current in the water was extremely strong and the waves where going over my head. And i am about 6ft tall. Anyway, i continued on til i got to the boys. They looked about 8 or 9. And they where shouting for help, so i went over to them and tried to calm them down, which they did and i explained to them that they had to just keep kicking and swimming as hard as they can and when a wave comes behind them that they should try to ride it in. So they did that while pushing me under water because they where panicing a little bit. But we only managed to get about 10ft because the current was so strong and i was going under the water every few seconds because of the two boys trying to grab hold of me. Luckily my dad jumped up and came diving in followed by another man, my dad came to help me with the boys and we managed to get them out. They where safe and sound, but rather distressed and tired after all the swimming against the current they had to do. The lifeguards came just as we got them out. (They wernt swimming between the flags, and because i am a good swimmer i wasnt either, i know its stupid and i have learnt my lesson about swiming in between the flags, and i usually do anyway.) But from this experience, i was just wondering, what should i ever do if i get caught in a rip and the lifeguards are not near? How do i get out of the rip? Just keep swimming to shore as hard as i can, or is there any other way to get out of it? Cheers Scouserlad13

Well, when i first got Strike fighters gold, i saw on the back that there where hundreds of dowloadable aircraft off the internet, so i went on the Thirdwire webpage, but found nothing :( i was so suprised after what it said on the back of the game, i mean i really wanted to download a tornado. But anyway, i decided not to play it for a while, but then i dug it out again and decided to google for a couple of days, and low and behold i ended up here at combat, WHERE I GOT THE TORNADO!

If you find any problems with the mission, send me a message and i will get right on it. Also New mission is coming out soon, based loosly on the events of August 17th when RAF eurofighters where scrambled to intercept soviet bears. I say loosly based because there is more than one bear (eventhough there where already claim's that there was more than one bear) and also two Mig escorts also, but it still needs some work.

Right on dave, well said. I think this community is "Boss!" as we say in liverpool, it means very good haha. The amount of people who have helped me overcome issues in the game is amazing. Just wanna say thanks to all you SF/WOX guru's out there. You do an excelent job at helping others. Dave i know sometimes i get things wrong when it comes to forum posts and we may get a little stressy and i just want to apologize for being a bit err how can i put it, rude when it comes to replying to your comments. But i know your just trying to make this forum as good as it can be, and you are doing an amazing job at it. THANKS DAVE!

Ive got to thinking recently, why not make a community mission. This means getting Ideas from the members here at combat ace about things such as aircraft, terrain, mission type, how many aircraft etc... If you have any ideas Lay it out like this: Terrain: xxxx Aircraft Involved: xxxx How many: Not many, A fair amount, A HELL OF ALOT! (choose one of these) Mission Type: xxxx Carrier Based: Yes/No Ground Units: Not many, A fair amount, A HELL OF ALOT! (choose one of these) And if you can think of any other things you would want to see in this mission, let me know. Cheers Scouserlad13
