  1. Do I press breaks? I think it complicates the situation more. The Cessna was a breeze to land but this one is just unstable.
  2. Great! Also availabe for the PS3. I have a HOTAS set up there.
  3. Maybe most flights are depleted or exhausted. My general observation is that casualty rates outpace the replacement rate in the campaigns.
  4. Sounds good. Too bad I'm not playing Falcon anymore.
  5. I'm playing the 5th tutorial mission landing a Piper Cub. When ever I touch down, the plane always turns turtle. I followed the speed stated by the voice prompt... Any tips?
  6. In the latest patch the "call for help" radio command now works.
  7. Just edited my post. It is fun (learning exerience). It actually makes me appreicate the aviation industry more.
  8. Long time combat simmer here. Finally bought FSX the other day and I am finding it fun.
  9. I use that (the block pointed by the arrow) as the aim point. Hehe.
  10. Me262 has no engine sound. Haven't checked the ini yet. Is it just me?
  11. That's why I stopped playing and stuck with SF2.
  12. Thanks for the comments. I'm not into WW2 aviation and Il-2 left a bad taste in my mouth (boring). I guess there's no harm in installing this one.
  13. Anyone tried? http://bbs.thirdwire.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=7628
  14. Yep. I stick with Normal to avoid giviging disadvantages to my wingmen. The description in the 1st post is how I've seen the game behaving for quite some time already so I have no complaints.
  15. Well you can think of it as a reserve flight that flies 30,000 ft and drives down to help when called upon. I guess they're not always available to help you out.
  16. Ok. Now that it works... Does it make the game rediculously easier? I haven't tested it out yet.
  17. BTW, Strike Fighters 2 is hardly modern. The game best simulates planes from the 60s-80s (Cold War) Current planes with advanced avionics are simplified. Depends on what planes you want and which theater? Europe and Israel are the most modern. Europe has both the A-10 and F-15. Israel has the F-16 and the F-15. Or you can just get both titles to get the best of both worlds. If you can get only one... you can go a long way with Europe where you can expand it with the Nato Fighters 4+ mod. Finally, there is a separatre section for SF2 discussion in the forums. (Moderators pls. move this thread).
  18. I get it now. You want to build a hybrid mod for SF2 so you're asking what's nice to put together... Safest thing to do. I suggest you pick the environment and effects mods from either NF4+ or Vietnam Air Ground... copy the whole folder. Hehe. You can add planes that you like... and also the relevant weapons. Don't forget the decals. The problem with a frankenstein mod is making sure the campaigns / terrain / ground objects / planes / nations / etc. are in sync. And that's not easy. You also get funny stuff when you create a random mission.
  19. Well if there's a new patch then you need to patch all the separate installs. Both a disadvantage (hassle) and also an advantage (flexibility of applying the patch to certain mods that don't "break" when upgraded).
  20. All my SF2 titles are merged. But mods are in separate mod folders. These are accessed by the inidvidial exe files for each title. Strike Fighters 2 Vietnam for the "Ground and Air Expansion" Strike Fighters 2 Europe for "NATO Fighters" Strike Fighters 2 for separate add-on planes and weapons. There's actually a "War for Israel" mod for SF2I but I didn't like it when I tried it. There are Arab campaigns for Israel. You have to get the enhanced map tiles for Israel. SF2 (Desert) has an expanded map (it's called Desert Plus or something) but I haven't gotten around to play it. There's Red Wings Over Dihmar (red campaign for the desert map) but I got this of the SF1 section. Never attempted to merge all the mods into one folder. Just like the others, I don't recommend it.
  21. I use Normal. Maybe I should start using Hard. I use ALT+N a lot and it doesn't seem to use fuel anyway.
  22. Testing the iPhone app.

  23. You will only have air superiority in Europe once you get the F-15. :D
