The Mod represents the Tu-22R Blinder-C Recon bomber in Soviet service. While first shown in public as early as 1961, These aircraft began to enter service in 1968. The Blinder-C is equipped with the same Rubin PN"Short Horn" radar and Serina 2 RWR as the Blinder-B. In addition to the wing mounted decoy dispensers, the Tu-22R had a third decoy dispenser mounted just after of the bomb bay, which was filled with 6 cameras and an early model Fasol SPS-5 noise jammer. Primary mission was Photo Recon. B. As of 2000, Blinders were still operated by Libya ( 5 out of 20 ), the Ukraine ( withdrawn in 2001 ), Iraq ( few out of 12 ), while the Russian aircraft were in storage awaiting dismantlement. ========================================= 1. Skins are sparce for the Blinders. This mod respresents an early model recon Blinder. While similar to the Tu-22K Blinder-B, the Tu-22R had six long focal length cameras in the former bomb bay. In addition to the wing mounted Chaff/Flare decoy dispensers, the Tu-22R had an early model Fasol SPS-5 Noise Jammer SP3 Compliant -
Now up at http://www.avsim.com/ and http://www.biohazcentral.com/ ======================================== Tupelov Tu-22K Blinder-B Missile Armed Bomber ======================================== Installation: 1. Drop the folder called "TU-22K"into your "Aircraft" directory. [ C:\Program Files\Strategy First\Strike Fighters\Objects\Aircraft ] Those that have SFP1 Gold or Valuesoft Editions, replace the \Strategy First\ with the correct folder 2. You should have the following already installed : A. SFP1 Service Pack #1 b. SFP1 Service Pack #2 c. SFP1 Service Pack #3 ( when released ) D. The most current SFP1 Weapons Pack ( Available from : http://www.max-gs.com/adave/weaponsdev/ ) NOTE: If you have not already done so, you should have the following website bookmarked. It will make your Strike Fighters Experience much more rewarding : http://www.sfmods.com/forum/index.php?act=ST&f=8&t=12 ======================================== A. The Mod represents the Tu-22K Blinder-B AS-4 armed bomber in Soviet service. While first shown in public as early as 1961, These aircraft were not in full operational service until early 1968. The Blinders used the Rubin PN"Short Horn" radar and Serina 2 RWR for detection & terrain mapping purposes. The rear gun turret was equipped with the NATO reporting named "Bee Hind" Ranging Radar. The Blinder-Bs also had flare dispensers located in the wing gearwells. B. This mod is based on Pasko's earlier AS-4 mod for the stock Tu-22 Blinder. I have researched the Blinder-B specs, and updated the radar and engine specs in accordance with the data in "Jane's All The World's Aircraft 1993-1994", and "Jane's Aircraft Upgrades 2002-2003". In anticipation of SFP1 Service Pak #3, I have also included wing flare dispensers. Note: these won't work ubtil you have SP3 installed. As far as is currently known, the Blinder-B did not originally carry a ECM jammer. C. As of 2000, Blinders were still operated by Libya ( 5 out of 20 ), the Ukraine ( withdrawn in 2001 ), Iraq ( few out of 12 ), while the Russian aircraft were in storage awaiting dismantlement. ========================================= 1. Special thanks to Pasko for permission to use his AS-4 Blinder mod. 2. Due to the fact Cargo ships do not have radars in SFP1, you may find that your missiles will not work against targets without radars. Until such time as a Cargo Ship mod with radar is introduced, use the SFP1 weapons editor to change the AS-4 guidance system from "Anti Radiation" to "TV Homing", also check "Optical Backup". This should enable to engage cargo ships in Single Mission anti ship situations. 3. Skins are sparce for the Blinders. Currently, only Pasko's Mostly Migs has a Tu-22 Desert Camo skin at http://home.earthlink.net/~pasko_patak/ TU-22K config.ini has the TextureSet data for Pasko's Desert Camo included. 4. Thanks to Eruyi for his original RP-21 MiG Radar.tga 5. Blinder Hangarscreen by "The Wrench", Thanks Kevin. 6. The MiG Works Team at SimHQ for guidance, expertise, inspiration, and support : MiGeg, Gramps, Madcaddie, Ghostrider, Tomcat74, Grach, Pasko, and C-5 7. Technical references : "Jane's All The World's Aircraft 1993-1994" "Jane's Aircraft Upgrades 2002-2003" "Jane's Radar And Electronic Warfare Systems 2000-2001" --------------------------------------------- Enjoy! bob "howling1" Hauser ================================================ ================================================ Sony feel free to mirror at Check-Six. Same for MajorLee & C-5, you guys don't have to ask... NOTE: Included inside the TU-22K folder is a small zipfile that contains Pasko's original mod. Open this in a separate folder if you wish to compare versions. Thanks again Pasko.

That includes the Flogger Mods, The IAF v1.5 Pack, The F-7/J-7 v1.5 Pack, the NKAF SU-7BMK, & others. Jeff does not need to ask. Consider it a return on the support MJ gave the SFP1 community in the early days of Strike Fighters...

Mad Mike, The Ki-43 *IS* at Avsim. However it was uploaded to the wrong section of the File Library, so getting it is a bit tricky : 1) Click on Avsim's File Library. 2) Click on What's New. 3) When the screen comes up, reset to Scan Mode. This saves you a bunch of hunting. 4) When you find it, you will notice that it was uploaded to "Strike Fighters Project 1" instead of "Strike Fighters Project1 : Mods, Utilities, & Patchs". 5) You will see two buttons in the Ki-43 line, "View" & "Get". Ingnore "View" and click on "Get". 6) You should now get a window asking whether you want to Open or Save the File. If you're using IE, click "Save". It should now download for you... -

Help with SFP1 settings...
howling1 replied to MonGooSe's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
From the looks of it, that particular skin's decal.ini is messed up. Track down the oversized decal's entry and change the size setting to : Scale=1.0 That should help tremendously...
