Last I heard Pasko was out of town & his site was down for maintenance ( I sent Pasko the radar data for the Bear awhile back ). Hopefully C/A will have all of his birds for D/L in the future. TW's MiG-27 needs a pit. I've been fiddling around with the Indian version, but have run into some problems concerning avionics, and due to pesky RL demands on my scarce free time haven't really been able to give it the attention that it deserves...

I see from the discussion that MontyCZ's Yak-28 ( Brewer & Firebar ) were omitted from the discussion. They should still be avaible at AVSIM. IIRC, we have availible : MiG-15 - Pasko MiG Pack by Madcaddie ( Oodles of MiG-17/19/21 variations ) MiG-15UTI - Pasko MiG-17AS - Pasko MiG-19M with IRM -me MiG-21F-13 - MF MiG-23MS - MF MiG-23M - MF MiG-23MF - MF MiG-23ML - MF MiG-23MLD - MF MiG-25 - wpnssgt MiG-27 - TW MiG-29A - wpnssgt Mi-24 - Cap & Crew La-15 - Pasko Su-7BMK - me Su-9A - Pasko Su-9B - Pasko Su-11 - Pasko Su-15A - boopidoo Su-15TM - boopidoo Su-17 - AD Tu-4 - MontyCZ Tu-16A - Pasko Tu-16C - Pasko Tu-16G - Pasko Tu-22K - Pasko & me Tu-22P - me Tu-22R - me Yak-15 - Pasko Yak-25 - Pasko Yak-25B - Pasko Yak-25RV - Pasko Yak-28B - MontyCZ Yak-28P - MontyCZ And this doesn't count a whole bunch of propeller birds ( MiGs, Laggs, & Yaks by Pasko, Cap, & Wolf257. Fiat G-91
howling1 replied to hunter's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Bpao has not yet released the G.91 Gina. The Kfirs & some other projects are ahead of it in the lineup. When the Gina's released, you can be sure that both German & Italian skins will soon be availible after it's release... -

G.91 IIRC, is on Bpao's "To Do" list. F-86D model is already availible. For a nation specific model, open the data.ini, change the following: [MissionData] NationName=ITALY <<< Change To This ServiceStartYear=1956 ServiceEndYear=1965 AircraftRole=FIGHTER AircraftCapability=DAY_ONLY Availability=VERY_COMMON Exported=TRUE ExportStartYear=1957 ExportAvailability=VERY_COMMON PrimaryRoles=CAP,INTERCEPT SecondaryRoles=RECON NormalMissionRadius=584.2 MaxMissionRadius=2406 Ceiling=15100 MinBaseSize=SMALL You will then need to add Italian AF skins... -

Total Disaster!!!
howling1 replied to fireengineer's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
The old Cyborgs were utter crap. The X-45 & X-52 OTOH, are *FAR* better designed. But still not up to the FF2's standards tho'... -

howling1 replied to fireengineer's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
My Sidewinder FF2 died on me last month. I replaced it with a Saitek X-52, but I'm not real happy with it. As near as I can find out, the closest thing to the old FF2 is the Logitech Flight Force stick. Man, I can't live without force feedback. My FF2 spoiled me... -
add-on problems
howling1 replied to a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
DL the "Fly The VPAF" mod availible here. I included the files necessary to get all the WOV stock Soviet a/c flyable. The pits used are those of the A-4, but the MiGs are flyable... P.S. : Go Army !!! -
adding aircraft
howling1 replied to slowmo's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Yup, you'll need either WinRAR, WinAce, or 7Zip to open the .rar files. Download.com should have them, otherwise Google will turn up sites where you can get them... -
Tu-22 problem
howling1 replied to tomagabriel's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
There's four a/c in SFP1 that aren't in WOV : F-104G C-130A An-12 Tu-22 You can get SFP1 from Circuit City for around $5 in the US & Canada. In the EU, look for SF:Gold. The SFP1E cat file extractor is availible for DL both here and at Check-Six... -

Probably A Silly Question...
howling1 replied to Gambler's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
For the F-4J, just DL from ThirdWire, and in the installation process make sure that the target folder is your SFP1 folder. The general drill for transfering planes from WOV to SFP1 is to use the .cat file extractor to extract all the files for that particular plane from the ObjectsData.cat file ( Located in the Objects folder ), and place them in that particular plane's folder in the Objects/Aircraft folder. Once you've done this it's a simple matter of copying the aircraft folder from one game to another. In WOV, I have the SFP1 F-104G, An-12, & C-130 flying. In SFP1, I have the WOV B-52, MiG-21PFV & MiG-17 flying... And yes, AD's F-105s are better... -

Flyable Mig 21 for WoV?
howling1 replied to Bibi's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
DL the "Fly The VPAF" mod availible here at CombatAce. This will enable you to fly all the MiGs that come with WOV. Incidently, the MiG-21MF cockpit mod by Mago will work in WOV. Just follow the included instructions for WOV... -
Also bear in mind that some of the older mods, created before WOV was released, tended to use the F-104G & C-130 as a basis. These planes are not in stock WOV & you'll need a copy of SFP1 to get the C-130 files. Thirdwire has since released their F-104G as an addon for SF Gold. It will install to WOV so that removes issues revolving around mods using the F-104's cockpit...

TU-16 & TU-22
howling1 replied to HrntFixr's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
You're in the US right? Just go to Circuit City's website & order it there ( It's $5-6 ). Once you have it installed you'll have TK's Tu-22 Blinder-A. The other variants that I uploaded will then work in SFP1. You'll be able also to extract the rest of the basic Tu-22 files, place them in the Tu-22 folder & export it to WOV. This procedure will need to be repeated for each plane that's based on a SFP1 stock a/c ( An-12, C-130, F-104G etc ). Same goes for exporting a stock WOV a/c to SFP1 ( like the B-52D for example )... -

I have a question guys. Say, on the Cyprus terrain, I want to place a unit of HAWKs near Nicosia, how would I go about that? Assume that I've placed the proper files into the OBJECTS folder & edited the GROUNDOBJECTDATA.ini to include the HAWK & both radars. What else do I need to do & do I need the Terrain Editor to find positions? Same goes for the base an Incerlik...
