  1. generally rivets. but consider how big the aircraft is. the bigger the bird, the less likely rivets will meaningfully show up in game. at least not without either showing up the size of hamburgers, or having a jpg/bmp the size of a major metropolitan area. OK, j/k about metro area, but you'd need a 4096 on something the size of say a C-5 to get decent rivets lined up. and then it would still be barely noticeable in game (tho you'd know they're there) on that one tho, rivets should be fine i think
  2. Thank you! Had an epiphany of sorts with lay down delivery. Due to the size of the blast the RI was only cleared down to mid altitude ( no low altitude) releases any how. So i need to slow them down, but not near as much as an F. Working myself today, so will get going tonight or tomorrow
  3. i'd hold a minute Sheriff. waiting on word from Kjakker about the effects (unless anyone else knows where the KT030 and MT030 nuclear effects are ), and i made adjustments to the RI's so they actually slowed down in the game rather than continue forward. me being nitpicky me also renamed for historical accuracy (ie B28RI Mod 5 for the 1.4 MT) finally, as mentioned above the RI and FI were parachute retarded. the difference lies in that the FI had bigger chutes to allow a "soft" landing and 30 second delay for laydown delivery. the RI just slowed it down. not sure the game will allow the 30 seconds on the ground before detonating tho. i want to release the B28RI_350 with the latest BUFF pack mid month, so hopefully resolved by weeks end. as to all others, again awaiting word from kjakker
  4. nope technically not even the right branch it was (VERY) loosely styled off of USAF CPT Scott O'Grady's F-16 being shoot down in 95. https://theaviationgeekclub.com/f-16-down-scott-ogrady-explains-how-he-was-shot-down-over-bosnia/ he wasnt too happy with the movie and actually sued 20th Century Fox over Owen Wilsons portrayal of him (esp when the studio was claiming the film to be true to life)
  5. get with Sheriff again if you want them to participate in NATO Nuclear Sharing. there's some new B28s that he's already fit into his US naval Buccaneer.....
  6. more nuke testing, some light refurbishing of Killerbee331s Mk28
  7. ok, update with oppurtunity to test.... Kjakker, could you upload the effects and sound to go with the bombs? also adjusting the drag ratios on the RIs so they fall back (like a parachute retarded weapon) and give the aircraft time to get away. also need to either change the FI to the parachute lod or eliminate it. the difference in the two was that the RI was retarded internal carriage, FI could also land on the ground, wait 30 seconds then detonate. so far im not sure that can replicate in game. no jobs today so will be working on adjusting the Killerbee originals, skins on russouk's and other edits to make the experience survivable finally, interesting fact from research: the B28 minus chute was the weapon for the A-5. it was in front of two fuel tanks, and the whole works was ejected with the tail cone over the target. UPDATE 2 getting some makeup on KBs old bombs. nothing like ravenclaws work, but better than the original weapons pack today
  8. Sheriff, only thing i can see so far is to adjust the "Y5" on the skins of all but the 1.45MT weapons. the Y(number) denoted what the yield was. I plan to get to that within the week (work allowing). Kjakker, are you planning on releasing this, or would you mind if i updated Killerbee's B28 ini's and released a pack of both(internal versions and KBs externals)? either way plugging the FI_350kt into my release for the B-52s this month. big help and thank you again back at Sheriff, i still say that birds unofficial name should be the Chiquita!
  9. hey do we have any lighthouses as terrain features? it would allow for recreating a usual pic taken of many NC based birds mandatory screenie (minus lighthouse)
  10. Humpday Heavies

    while youre looking that way......
  11. when you say lack of reference photos, whatcha using besides google searches? i've been using google as a base line, then visiting the sites link that the pic is from. i've also used groups on FB (esp veterans of that aircraft, not just fanboys) as a really good source. The B-52 group, with its many crew chiefs and weapons guys, has given excellent support during my most recent project. also tapdance your searches, input as many variations of the theme as you can think of however off the wall or seemingly irrelevant
  12. russouk, its fitting beautifully now and the SRAMs dont even have to be jammed against the back wall anymore what font did you use for the Y1? (reason why below) kjakker, do you have any other inputs in the near future? if not, im looking to rig up four weapons with the different yields (70kt, 350kt, 1.1MT and 1.4MT) and load the 350 as standard ATTACK in the loadout. thank you guys very much for your help with this
  13. heres a few topping options for your next delivery
  14. changes i made to the data ini so far DragAreaMultiplier=120.000000 ________________ up from 0 Explosives=10000000.000000 ------------------------------ took one zero off, so not dropping tsar bomba and dying. odd because the B61 values are higher and no issues until 1000ft ArmingTime=120.000000 ------------------------------------- not sure this is doing anything have it down so far to laydown delivery survival at no less than 1500ft or 490kts. 1250ft and things start flying off the airframe (altitudes in screenie are follow thru on popping up). better than the first test where i disintegrated at 10000ft (yes i know im impatient and like to charge ahead with things that i can)
  15. once you do, youll kick yourself in the ass for not having used it its that good
  16. you really need to get this tool it does so much wonders for skinners (and now even shows tgas for decallers like me) and save alot of time from the old "make a change, fire game up, make correction, rinse wash repeat". just click on what youre checking once again and presto! change is displayed in 5 seconds
  17. nuclear testing (big thanks to russouk2004 and Kjakker!)
  18. file folder can go the historical designation, in the drop down in game i would have the yield showing (for those that actually just fly this sim rather than research for hours on end!) still wondering how to delay the explosion. it would be nice to fly lower than 20000 ft and survive this thing!
  19. only if you two are related and not in the state of Alabama sizes seemed dead on for the weapon, but the bomb bay is a bit smallish. i'd say easier to shrink the bomb a little than to redo the BUFF! awesome on getting a chute on this bad boy yakarov, with the Hound Dog keep in mind a few things: they were camoflaged in the 70s (little skin consideration) and the crews often used the jets on them to generate extra thrust on take off (topping off the missile tanks in flight) general weapons question: can the arming time value be used to delay teh explosion and still work AFTER the weapon hits the ground? if so what would be a good value to enter (thinking ArmingTime=15.00000) Kjakker, are you looking to name this thing something other than B28FI_1.1MT? or if you want to be all historical B28FI(Mod1)
  20. heres the data.ini as mostly done. gotta get to the loadout.ini but for a historical fit its not gonna take too much. only 3 station groups unlike the G and used the HSAB for conventional (and ALCM) rather than the Hound Dog pylon and i beam. also the Hs had a nearly total nuclear commitment in the 80s. the ability to load dumb iron and some guided missiles was there, just not used until the Gs were almost all gone B-52H_88_data.7z Russouk, heres the fit within the bay maybe a 1/3 of a meter shaved off the front if you have to rework the model to incorporate a chute should get a fit if not, well not too many peek in the bay in flight do they? back at KJakker, Quail would be awesome, but is outside the scope here. Im doing G_89 and H_88 for now. but am wanting to come back and do the tall tails and G/H post Nam (y'all should know my particular modding fetishes by now ). just gonna take a break after these to pull some Switchblades and them Bones update heres the loadout as stands. B61 is a place filler until this is completed, and not much conventional due to the Hs being primarily nuclear alert. added some in tho as it is a game and maybe a commo van doesnt need its own 1.45 Megaton device B-52H_88_LOADOUT.7z both inis considered 90% done
  21. russouk, thank you very much sir! its still a little jammed on the inside, but that seems a bomb bay limitation as the weapon dimensions are correct.(talking with SRAMs and bombs as was carried in the 80s) this weapon was commonly used in laydown mode (the big cannister on back is a parachute). would a chute be possible to slow this puppy at low level? if not what there is is excellent thank you for the quick work on it either way
  22. good luck with your medical, i certainly know that things can take quite a bit out of you
  23. that would certainly do, does it come parachute retarded (no, seriously) effects and all else i wasnt too worried about, there is a pointy nose version here in house, i was just gonna apply the data from the old to the new lod. i can even finish skinning it unless you prefer just lack the ability to make lods (esp with an intent to release in an actual two weeks) trying to fix the load outs on the late 80s Buffs, turns out SRAMs werent carried outside much after the 70s. but the bombs werent pointy either
  24. you may want to reduce the opacity of the numbers and lettering (for a grey skin i recommend around 40 to 50%, 70 for a full viz) otherwise its looking awesome. a different replacement to the Argus
  25. aint seen an exact match(granted i spent about 5 mins looking, as opposed to the couple hours a night ive been spending hunting down Buff nose art images), but the color version should work with a bunch of PS time spent on it my search also found an all black version of that (looked like a display from a plastic model in progress), which could also work after greying out. time to knock the rust off them artist skills!
