all depends on your area of interest i like from just after Vietnam through Kosovo timefram. for the 70s and 80s stuff its often better to get books from the 80s. not as super informative as current books (capt x took airframe y on route z) but its the start of high quality pics mixed with the subjects being then fairly current. -

my two cents on it, time is a resource we expend just like money, gas etc. you have a very ambitious project. but once you release, three types will download it. the ones who will use as is, the ones that will tweak to learn /change how they want, and the ones that will copy group two and not know what they are doing. both of the second two will ask alot of questions and frustrate you (esp group three, just ask Menrva about ODS ). the short version: end users will break this in about 3 seconds, and frustrate you when they ask why its broken mind you, i generally am all for making whatever mod your heart desires. hell im about to make yet another 510th FS Viper skin . but if doing an all encompassing overhaul, ask how hard it will be to break. that is how much time do you want to spend doing this for the community when someone comes along and says it doesnt work anymore because someone took 90 seconds to install a new weapon that isnt in your system -

what controls the fire in the data ini? whatever looks like a rate of fire entry, i'd play with that -

that i can recall no artillery shoots while moving. tube or rocket. but rocket especially given how it has to raised from the stowed travel position if it can move then stop and shoot that would be awesome. if not, then stationary would be the way to go for the firing one. maybe with a mobile one to "get caught between firing positions"? -

i appreciate it! to be honest, given i had no intentions on Aggressors i did gloss over that. will look into it, although tbh it will be about a week or so before i do. want to wrap up my 23d Wing project here, and some mid 90s skins for ravenclaw's D model above. His work so far has been quite a bit more recent (2013 ish), while you all know im into the older stuff -

overall, welcome to a truth of good SF2 modding: its about 75% hunting for pics and information, 15% setting things up/figuring things out to make the mod and about 10% actually making a mod plus or minus about 50% cussing when it doesnt work/when it does work -

what he said. that is awesome for those air forces that use the classic USAF camo that is about perfect as is. occasional dark area running up the filet to the tail, sometmes a darker radome (not black, just darker) but otherwise spot on. i hope i know, i've only looked at about a thousand pics to get to 510 serials over the last week. you got anyone in mind to set up further skins? or thinking about releasing this now, temps later for others to work on period? -
Problems with LandingLight and runway / flashing lights
daddyairplanes replied to Eagle114th's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
play with the values in the landing light entry. i've had to do that with some recent projects, but not that skilled to give solid answers other than dont screw with the color seriously though play around with Brightness, LightSrcRange and LightRange on each of the landing gear lights. if you have any left and right ones that is actually great. play with left then compare with right (provided you dial them down from super bright) make sure your positions are lined up good too, sometime they can be off on non stock planes -

looks much better than the one i'm working with. suspect its much newer too skin temps wouldnt be a problem for me, as the bulk of markings for me would be tga (still some variation amongst the squadrons birds, esp wing kings) time neither, as im going to do about a dozen C model skins first. just wrapped up serial number hunting today on all units/years for this project. D models are.... interesting when you track down their history. longest at a unit was about five years that i recall seeing, although 11 months is more common. they got shifted, ALOT finally, not a Viper expert but the Block 40s had chin stations originally for the LANTIRN pods. dont know if you dont have them available on yours or they are just not pictured
