  1. Condor, were there a lot of clouds or haze about? Sometimes labels won't show through haze
  2. We call them Package Stores or Packys here in Connecticut too Pretty strict liquer laws here, only Mon-Sat, 8 or 9 PM allowed Supermarkets are limited to beer only When I went to school in Michigan they had drive through Liquer Stores open to 2 AM Just pull right up to the register and they'll pass the case through the car window Can't remember if they had wine or spirits as we could only afford beer then
  3. Yep, have to agree on that point Spitfire (Mk IX) is my all time fav too But the P26 was a different era They're both top notch in their class
  4. OFF only has a simple FFB On/Off in Workshops Only way to adjust your settings is with the Stick software
  5. Amazing work stumpjumper! If those flaming onions pop up, I'm hightailing it outta there ...Hmmm, what if OBD was to add these in as a surprize??? We'd all need some Windex
  6. Love those P26's US had some snazzy paint scemes in the interwar years Betcha they were a ball to fly too!
  7. A a hot summer day a crisp Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is quite nice But my heart lies with the Reds Oregon Pinot Noirs Alexander Valley Cabernets - Jordon as BuB suggested A Merlot with a thick steak Or a French Bordeaux if I feel adventurous
  8. Ahh wheat, the staff of life Gently swaying in the breeze Foundation of the the heartiest bread to the daintest pastries And a cloudy brew that'll enrapture the cultured palette And to be besmerched by BARLEY!!! ...horse food, fit for the trouth I tell you!!! OK, OK, OK, simmer down, form a line, :tomato2: you'll all get a shot, keep it clean now, :tomato2: Aw, let's all just have a cold one
  9. I'm sure that's the theory but the application would be extremely difficult The fact that they're getting their butts whipped means they're probably outnumbered and more guns are pointed at you than them If there's an HA on your tail, top priority is to out manuever him before any thoughts of running away Leader may drop a flare etc. but each man has to pick his time and opportunity And the HA has other thoughts, winning is infectious, they'll probably just follow on behind And if you're in a rotary vs speedy inlines, the fight ends more often when they say it ends
  10. I'd say you're on a very lucky streak ...else I'm on a veeery unlucky one
  11. Single aircraft break off and leave all the time after they've been damaged But it's WWI, no radios, so a group disengage wound't be too realistic anyways I have seen AI flights turn and run when outnumbered though
  12. You guys are great! Yet again we find ourselves in debt to you Have a great time off folks ...and might I suggest you peruse the beer thread for some liquid relaxation options
  13. I create and fly only 1 pilot at a time ...and delete him as soon as he's killed/captured I find this more immersive and helps to get in tune with your pilot and wingmates It's also more nerve wracking as if he dies, '0' Zero hours, nothing to fall back on I'm generally pissed off if my wingmate gets wounded or goes on leave We're in this together and I don't want to fly with anyone else
  14. Here here to Rex! In the silent service Efforts much appreciated!
  15. Flaming Onions would be a neat addition to OFF I could see how they would be dazzling and frightful at the same time Thanks for your efforts stumpjumper!
  16. I agree, the OOB is realistic now I voted 'No'
  17. Good idea Bulletthead Might make the Biff's hit rate more reasonable But the poor ol' Re8 (and others) would take a beating It's a challenge to outfox an Re8 now ...but it can be done
  18. So true, I toured the internals of a B17 at a local flyin I was very surprized how thin everything appeared Felt like I was inside a soda-pop can MG Rounds let alone Cannon Shells would pass right through it
  19. thewoo1, here's a link to a poll we ran on WWI movies http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showt...ll's+Angels The 1st post contains trailers of the 7 movies The 3 older movies used actual WWI craft All later flicks used replicas of varying degree of authenticity All used substitutes where accurate birds could not be acquired
  20. I understand your point Shred Brisfit was a formidable opponent Great performance and the TGer had an excellent vantage point But as Olham states, "they hit you even in the craziest curve" These guys have hummingbird like reflexes and all those little bursts add up Add to that, the AI wingies always go for a 6 O'Clock attack They quickly get chopped up by the TGers and you're alone Loss rates seem all out of proportion to RL WWI Best fight I ever had was 4 DVII's diving on 3 Biffs We shot all of them down but all 3 wingies crashed too ...finally I flopped her into a field If these rates were true then the Biff not the DVII would've been considered the best WWI fighter Don't get me wrong, I love the challenge of the Biff But I'm sure he just looks at his TGer and they chortle with laughter when they spot me :black eye:
  21. Thanks for all the replies guys This hobby's getting more interesting all the time ...maybe someday
  22. And I thought I was angry at the Biffs! zoomzoom sounds like you need a 3 day pass ...then we'll pour the napalm on those Bris-fiends Lou, I like your idea of B&Zing the Hannovers Steep angle attack is best option of attacking the Biff so far Problem is she's so fast and climbs so well , it's hard to get out from under her & extend away Almost always end end with some kind of shallow climbing attack I still have the feeling that the Biff TGer has supernatural powers Even in a high speed diving attack he still manges to get a quick passing shot in Thinking ...hoping ...praying there's a decimal point off somewhere OvS are there files that govern TGer performance?
  23. Thanks for the heads-up Rick Nice shots! Found a guy inquiring about OFF there too Answered his questions and gave him a link to 1 of Jammer's video's Hope you don't mind Jammer
  24. Thanks, when I saw his picture, he looked like such a nice guy, I had to choose him Think I remember you relating that story back at SM-OH Glad to have you back,
  25. 1) Yes if all the planes that squad used have been created 2) Yes to a point, there are many dates you can enlist at Welcome to OFF Salty!
